What is the Ottewell Difference? The Golden Rule is our ultimate practice philosophy - do to others as you would like them to do to you. We treat our patients as if you are a family member or close friend who we care about.
Alberta Health Care covers one complete eye exam per year for patients ages 18 and under, and 65 and over. Additional exams and/or treatments may be covered based on medical needs. Medically Necessary and/or urgent care is also covered by Alberta Health Care. Doctors of optometry have the proper knowledge, tools and equipment necessary to diagnose, treat or refer to a specialist, if needed.
Many people are very confused when it comes to choosing the correct glasses. It can be hard to tell what looks best on your face, while also staying within your budget (and insurance). You also want to be comfortable in the glasses that you choose. We also have frames for other purposes. We offer sunglasses for those who are outside a lot and need some protection from the sun.
A routine eye examination is more than being able to see "20/20". Our philosophy is to enhance the quality of your life and to not just treat the "eyes" but to treat the "person behind those eyes" as well. At Ottewell Eye Care we go above and beyond the minimum standard of an eye exam as we provide the full spectrum of eye care services specific to your needs.
Did you know that your child's first eye exam should be at 6 months of age? The eye doctor are checking to ensure that the eyes are healthy, that the eyes are working together as a team and are aligned and that the eyes are developing at the acceptable normative range. The next recommended visit is yearly after their first initial visit.

Dr Hahn and associates are awesome. I have multiple health issues that make evaluation and fitting difficult. Many optometrists don't have the patience to deal with it. Dr. Hahn always has patience and treats his patients with respect. The associates who help in the choosing of frames and all the other duries are all kind and welcoming.

Dr. Hahn is a really good eye doc with a real attention to detail.. I was in for a standard exam and he spotted something relatively serious. Within twelve hours he had scheduled me in for laser surgery and the problem was corrected. The surgeon spoke very highly of Dr. Hahn saying he is one of the best in the city. Highly recommend him and would not go anywhere else.

My visits at Ottewell Eye Care have been outstanding!! Dr. Greg Hahn is incredibly personable, he is incredibly knowledgeable, I have never experienced an optometrist like him!! He goes the extra mile with his VERY thorough eye exams. If the patient has any eye problems he WILL find the source of the problem and take the appropriate steps to assist the patient with combating the problem as expeditiously as humanly possible.
He takes immense pride in his work and cares for the patient making sure all patients have the best vision possible.

My glasses purchased from another optometrist had broken. The frames were quite old and had been discontinued by the manufacturer. My optometrist told me they would be unable to get parts. I called >20 optometrists in the Edmonton area, hoping someone may by chance have my frames in stock. None did and all told me they couldn't get parts. Except for Ottewell Eye Care. They reached out to the manufacturer and found that there were still a few parts available. They ordered the part needed and repaired my frames very quickly and for a very reasonable price. Agree with other reviews on Dr. Hahn's attention to detail. I wouldn't go to anyone else. I always know that I am getting the best prescription possible.
The opticians will also do a great job in helping you find the right frames and lenses. A.J. made the process easy and enjoyable and was extremely knowledgeable about the different options. He was also very accommodating and gave us the time and space we needed to make our decision.

Went to Dr. Hahn after two less-than-stellar experiences with other eye doctors in Edmonton. While every eye doctor I've seen over the years has told me I have dry eyes, Hahn was the first to explain the significance of the problem and how it affects my vision. He was also the first to explain how my early-stage cataracts change my vision under different lighting conditions -- which means I either have to buy different eyeglasses for high/low light or I have to pick my poison. I appreciated his patience and tenacity in helping me choose the right prescription for my frustrating situation.

Dr Greg Hahn has been our family optometrist for the past 15 years. I would never go anywhere else. He is now seeing my grandson who has some challenges and Ive never seen someone so patient and kind. We all love going there and travel from leduc area. I just can't say enough good things about him and recommend him to everyone.

My experience at Ottewell Eye Care can only be described as fantastic! The doctor was incredibly thorough in his eye tests and was able to answer all my questions. He was patient and I never felt as if I was taking up his time. The same can be said about the staff working at the clinic. All of them were great and very helpful. I got my first pair of glasses at Ottewell and I was impressed with how quickly they came in. I only had to wait three business days which was nice since I was getting a lot of headaches from my work computer. I would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend Ottewell for

In Sept. 2017 I went Ottwell Eye Care. I was impressed. The office has a welcoming feeling. The staff were great to deal with. I had an eye examination done and it went well. Order new glasses and am very pleased with them. Today (May 4/18) I went back to order another pair of glasses specifically for using when I'm on my computer. The service again was great great. The staff are very pleasant and wanting to help. I appreciate the people in the office and highly recommend to anyone.
