At Evergreen Cremation Centre Ltd, it is our commitment to provide dignity and service excellence at a low cost, lower than the Memorial Society; honouring traditions and wishes of the family we serve at prices that are affordable and, the arrangements can be made in the comfort of your own home or at our central Ladysmith location.

We also believe ALL BC Residents should be aware of Cremation and Burial Assistance programs. Families or individuals already receiving government assistance are generally pre-qualified, but ANYONE needing assistance can apply. We will assist you in this during our meeting. The staff at Evergreen Cremation Centre Ltd. is here to help our customers and try to make things easier at a time that many people feel overwhelmed. It is our belief that your needs are important and we are dedicated to meeting those needs.

We Accept All Prearrangements - Regardless where you may have prepaid for cremation arrangements we will honor your arrangements and collect directly from the financial institution or insurance company holding these funds.You are not obligated to use the provider you arranged through originally. We will handle the paperwork necessary to transfer your plans to our care.

If a death has taken place and you require immediate assistance - Please phone, as it may be a few hour to respond to e-mails. You are welcome to call us any time of the day, any day of the week, for immediate assistance. Or, visit our funeral home in person by arranging an appointment for a time convenient for you, when our staff is available.

Living Reef Memorial - Green Burial at Sea Report

Evergreen Cremation Centre is proud to offer Living Reef Memorials. We are working with Robert Sarnie, Director of Sea Turtle Rescue, Global Protection Project and Living Reef Memorial, out of San Diego CA. Together his staff and I have brought the Living Reef Memorial option to the Georgia Strait, creating habitats in areas where humans have caused harm or in areas where greater biodiversity could be established.

Cremation Services Report

Cremation only refers to the manner in which you or your loved one has chosen to deal with the physical remains. We want you to know that this decision doesn't limit the ways you can honor your loved one's life. We heartily suggest that you have a funeral or memorial service, because your need for such a healing experience is not lessened by the decision to be cremated.

Burial Services Report

At Evergreen Cremation Centre, we offer a variety of burial options as well, customized to suit your preferences and needs. The act of choosing burial only referrers to how you or your loved one decide to deal with the mortal remains. Being buried is one of the oldest, and most widely-practiced traditions.

Death is never an easy thing to deal with and a suicide can seem even worse. Our family was dealt this blow in January 2020, then Covid, no service, with no final goodbyes, it was horrible. Throughout the whole nightmare, Kevin has been the one calm beacon for us. From visiting my home in Qualicum to talk about options, to allowing us to keep the ashes at his facility until I could pick up, Kevin has been wonderful. We had his full attention, he was prompt with callbacks, helped with the obituary, publishing and uploading to the website. He prides himself with being a different experience for care

Kevin, needs to communicate better. Saying sorry after the fact doesn’t help. Despite agreeing my wife’s ashes would be returned to me and confirming that on three occasions, he failed to follow through. I do not have my wife’s ashes. Kevin hides behind a quirk in the law, which he had ample opportunity to explain before hand. Incompetence or arrogance??

When my Dad was nearing his final days, I called Evergreen Cremation Centre. It was the best decision I could have made on behalf of our family. Kevin was very understanding of my Dad’s funeral wishes and provided both my sisters with many helpful tips on how to handle issues surrounding my Dad’s Last Will & Testament.

The death of my mother is one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. Kevin was so kind and understanding. Even in a time of social distancing he made me feel better. He answered my questions (even the ones he already answered previously, 3 times) and his communication was great.

Evergreen was a tremendous resource and support for our family after the loss of my husband. Even though everything was so difficult due to Covid 19 Kevin and his staff were so caring and helpful and made a difficult time easier to navigate. All we felt as a family was compassion and support from the staff at Evergreen. There was not one moment of pressure, just care and concern. Kevin was available for questions and recommendations and he continued to help me after everything else was settled. The loss of someone you love is devastating I’m grateful Evergreen was there to guide me through.

My wife had been ill for some time and when she was nearing the end I new I had to make funeral arrangements. I had no idea where to start. Our daughter did some research and called evergreen and talked to Kevin. He is amazing. I simply filled out a form on their website, and when the time came Kevin guided us through the entire process. When I first arrived in Nanaimo, I had no idea what to do…..(still don’t)….until I met Kevin. Thanks go to Kevin from Evergreen Cremation in Ladysmith. He has a way of making something as daunting as my Dad’s death seem manageable. He simplified… the whole process and has blown me away! I just could not see any other funeral service doing half what Kevin did for me and the fact that he came here was awesome, it made my life so much easier. He is also cheaper than others and is not trying to up sell everything. He takes your budget seriously. Very professional and very caring.

It's not easy reviewing this type of service but there is much to be said for Evergreen Cremation. Kevin was beyond helpful, and was always available to us with no hesitation. He was sensitive, thorough and considerate. Not pushy. The location was very convenient for us and Kevin offers many options for those dealing with this chapter of life. Very grateful.
