Regularly brushing and flossing your teeth not only helps to keep them clean and cavity-free, it helps to reduce tartar and plaque build-up in your mouth, and it helps to keep your gums healthy too. But, like an iceberg, a large part of every tooth, including its foundation and roots, lies below the gum line where your toothbrush and floss can't reach.
Long ago, tooth cavities were often filled with gold. Gold is a perfect filling material because it's pliable, durable and doesn't corrode. But it's also really expensive. So dentists started offering their patients an alternative to gold called amalgam, which was less expensive, yet still remarkably strong and durable.
When you get a cut on your skin, there's a chance that the wound can become infected if you don't keep it clean. Similarly, if your tooth is 'wounded', like from tooth decay or if a crack develops, it too can be infected. If a cut on your skin gets infected, it affects the soft tissue around the cut.
While we could all use little more wisdom, most of us don't use our wisdom teeth. Unlike the rest of your permanent teeth, which usually appear between the ages of 6 and 13, wisdom teeth don't usually grow in until between the ages of 17 and 25. A third set of molars, wisdom teeth grow in at the very back of your mouth, behind all the other teeth.

My daughter has been a patient here for over 3 years. we went there a few weeks ago because of a bad toothache, they did nothing for her. charged a $100 for an appointment that literally took 5 minutes and they hardly addressed the tooth causing her pain. they were more interested in her wisdom teeth and sending her home with estimates to get them removed for over $2000. oh and it wasn't a wisdom tooth that is hurting her. she has no pain from her wisdom teeth. they also neverset up another appointment to deal with the issues with her tooth that is causing so much pain, just the estimate for removal
