The staff and lawyers at Labour Rights Law join with other allies who wear orange to show support and solidarity with the First Nations and increase awareness about the atrocities perpetrated at Canada's residential schools. We believe that all Canadians have a role to play in reconciliation with First Nations peoples.

All of us at Labour Rights Law care and want to help the healing. Since 2013, Labour Rights Law has been providing effective, affordable legal advice to individuals, unions, and select small businesses and not-for-profits. Clients can consult with our lawyers from the comfort of their own home, or visit in-person at the Firm's innovative workspace located in Coquitlam, BC.
Services
Labour Rights Law opened its "doors" in 2013 as the first virtual labour, employment, and human rights law office in Canada. Labour Rights Law provides legal advice on workplace matters to all provinces and territories except Quebec. Superior communication skills is why Fatemeh Saidi excels in service to clients.
Many employee rights come from the laws made by our provincial and federal governments. Examples of rights that come from these laws include the right to a minimum wage and overtime, the right not to be discriminated against for things like colour, or sex, or disability, and the right to work in a safe workplace.
We provide strategic and timely labour relations advice and representation in every facet of the collective bargaining relationship. Labour law sets out the rules between employers, unions, and unionized employees (also called "members"). Employers and unions negotiate contracts that set out the rights of bargaining members in their employment and help protect the members' rights, work, and working conditions.
People in every province and territory in Canada have human rights laws to protect them from discrimination. But not all discrimination is illegal. Only "prohibited grounds of discrimination" are protected by human rights law. These prohibited grounds include colour, race, ancestry, sex, disability, and family status.
Civil litigation involves matters that are not criminal. These "civil" wrongs usually involve breaking a contract, or committing a "tort" (which is a legal term for a civil wrong that isn't breaking a contract).

Labour Rights Law has significant experience in civil litigation representing plaintiffs (those who make a claim against someone else), defendants (those who are defending against claims made against them), and third-parties (those who are sued by defendants in the defendant's case). Most of Labour Rights Law's cases in court have been employment law cases.
