The Economic Classes consist of Skilled Workers through Express Entry Class, Start-up Business Class, Self-Employed Persons Class, Caregiver Program, Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Pilot Program, Provincial Nominee Programs and Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programs. Quebec Immigration Programs are also considered Economic Classes.
Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry system through their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs. Those who meet the criteria of one of the federal immigration programs listed above will be accepted into a pool of candidates.

To become a permanent resident in the Self-employed Person Class, a foreign national must have relevant experience and has the intention and ability to be self-employed in Canada and to make a significant contribution to specified economic activities, which means cultural activities, athletics or the purchase and management of a farm.
The new Start-Up Visa Program will link innovative entrepreneurs with private sector organizations in Canada that have experience working with start-ups and can provide entrepreneurs with essential resources.
As a way to help these in-demand entrepreneurs fulfill their potential and maximize their impact on the Canadian labour market, they will require the support of a designated Canadian angel investor group or venture capital fund before they can apply for a start-up visa.

I entered Canada as a visitor and then decided to change status to a student. I tried to extend my stay in Canada as a student by myself back in March 2018 but my application was rejected. After I was referred to Ms. Wanda Ji, she reviewed my previous application carefully and asked me to submit more evidence that I have not done so before. To my surprise, my application was approved in a month, much faster than the normal processing time. I will definitely come back to her after graduation for my P.R application!

Before retaining Wanda Ji's service for my P.R application under Caring for Children Class, I was with an immigration law office who has been in the field for more than 25 years. They kept delaying my application submission for unknown reason to the point I decided to terminate their service on my file. Through a church friend's recommendation, I retained Wanda Ji's service in late November 2017 and within four days, I got my eligibility approval letter and received my file completion letter from IRCC within two months, which usually will take at least three months according to IRCC's processing
