Notus is the only net monitoring system to offer active, two-way communication AND true omnidirectional capabilities, providing sensor data when it is needed most! Unique two-way communication provides twice the information by providing distance and spread. Why settle for less?! Notus is the only system to offer true, omnidirectional pattern beams in all of our net monitoring sensors.
This is critical when turning, when a door has fallen over or when fishing gear is lost. Active, two-way communication allows Notus users a variable data rate, choosing options from 5, 10, 20 or 60 second intervals. This allows Notus users to control their battery life and offers the ability to receive critical information in real time, at the most crucial moments.

Founded in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada in 1992, Managing Director and Chief Engineer, Brad Henderson set out to develop a product unlike any other available on the market. Having worked in the underwater acoustic environment since 1984, Brad saw the need for a system that had two-way communication, as opposed to the traditional pinger based systems still in use today, and a sensor that offered true 360-degree, omnidirectional capability.
Notus is the only system to offer true, omnidirectional pattern beams in all of our net monitoring sensors. This is critical when turning, when a door has fallen over and when fishing gear is lost. Notus sensors boast an active, two-way communication system, not offered by other net monitoring systems.
Displays a 3D image that changes as you trawl. Three viewing options available below the main screen: top view, bird's eye view and alignment view. With Notus, you really are getting the full picture. The Pre-Amp connects to the Hydrophone and the Command Unit, boosting the signal strength. Trawlers world over have experienced significant fuel savings coupled with increased catches.
The Pre-Amp connects to the Hydrophone and the Command Unit, boosting the signal strength. Sensors are installed just below the corkline and on the leadline. Just one sensor on the leadline provides depth of the seine, sink rate and range to the leadline. Up to three sensors can be added to the leadline.
Sensors are not used active two-way communication systems, other network monitoring systems are tested. Rather than being available to users, Notus communicates with each other through proven bi-directional protocols. Notus is the only system using this robust system, which allows the captain to control autonomy and data rate.
