Cutting down a tree is a double-edged sword - nearly everyone can attest to the beautiful sight of an old growth maple, oak, elm, or spruce thriving on your property. But sometimes old trees simply pose more of a safety threat to both your property, your pets and family members, and pedestrians walking by.
Many of us have a beautiful old tree on our properties that we would love to see flourish, but the fact is, limbs may be beginning to rot, and we end up constantly worrying about the safety of our kids, pets, and standing structures in our yards. As a last resort, your best bet may be to simply remove the tree altogether.
Tree trimming & pruning is a labour of love - this practice involves the selective removal of various parts of a plant or tree, like roots, limbs and branches, and buds. Reasons to prune include the removal of deadwood that could fall and cause bodily harm or damage to your property, shaping and controlling the aesthetic of the tree, improving or maintaining tree health, prepping transplants for nurseries, and encouraging the growth of fruits.
Hedging consists of tapering and rejuvenating that unsightly row of cedars, sumacs or elms into an aesthetically pleasing thing of beauty. Think of hedging as a buzz-cut for your shrubs and hedges! Hedging helps to shape and clip your hedges into functional barriers for yard privacy, or can turn your existing hedges into a work of art by manicuring them into a fun design or shape.
After your tree has been cut down, there's always a large stump left over. Depending on the wishes of the homeowner and the extent of the tree species root system, a stump can be ground away to eliminate the need to dig and remove these roots. Stump grinding is completed by a modern piece of equipment that uses a powerful motor and a rotating cutting disc to clip and grind away wood.

I’m very disappointed after reading all the positive reviews. Glenn made an appointment with us to come and cut our trees down Friday, November 6, but never showed up. I called him twice that day, each time leaving a message, but he never returned my calls. I called him again on Saturday, left a message but he never called me back. He’s not reliable. I will never think of hiring him again.

He cut down the tree but left the pile of logs on my lawn for more than a month, even though removing them was included in the quote. He's told me several times that he would remove them 'this week' but the weeks come and go while the pile remains. I do not recommend his services at all. I paid him in full, but he did not complete the job. I am very disappointed.
