Bituminex Paving Ltd. as we know it today is the combination of two road construction companies that operated in the City of Winnipeg and surrounding area for over 50 years. Pourex Limited was founded in 1976 and concentrated on the construction and rehabilitation of concrete streets, roads, and flatwork.
They continually expanded to become one of the largest concrete paving companies in Winnipeg, which undertook projects for the land developers, the City of Winnipeg, and the Department of Highways. The owners of Pourex Limited required asphalt paving on a lot of their street projects and having control of this aspect made them more competitive in the market.

Bituminex Paving Ltd. is a Winnipeg-based company owned and operated by Manitobans since 1987. We employ approximately 200 men and women in peak season and are one of Winnipeg's largest road construction companies. Our proven track record of completing projects of any size on-time and on-budget speaks for itself.

Although we started as a paving company, each year we move mountains of earth in preparation for roads, parking lots, and subdivisions. Regardless of the nature of work, the foundation upon which any construction project is built is of the utmost importance. An asphalt or concrete pavement is only as strong as the granular material that it sits on.
Bituminex owns and operates a centrally located asphalt plant located in the St. Boniface area of Winnipeg. We have a modern testing laboratory on site and extensively test all of our mixes to assure each one meets our high standards. The plant is capable of running high volumes of multiple mixes, and has silo capacity to feed multiple paving operations and external supply commitments concurrently.
