Most of the employees do not wear masks (for example at the reception) on the other hand no housekeeping due to Covid!? Sorry that doesn‘t make sense, it is just annoying for guests. In general rooms are clean, smell in the bathroom and in the room though not acceptable. Super noisy overall as you can hear every car passing by. For 1 night to catch the ferry probably okay, otherwise no recommendation.

Unfortunately a really bad experience. Rooms smell like cold cigarettes and really outdated. Also bathroom smell not okay. Stuff is „friendly“ if you are lucky to meet someone at the reception. Covid rules are applied as best suitable for the hotel. No masks for reception stuff and housekeeping okay but housekeeping is „not allowed“ to enter the room so if you need fresh towels or something else it is up to you to find someone. In that case you have even more contact to even more different people not wearing masks. But probably it is only me and I think this doesn’t make sense (*sarcasm

Just found out I am banned for thinking I had my laptop missing from my room and phoning the police once I found out the manager didn’t care it went missing in his establishment. I ended up finding it, held myself accountable and apologized to the police & staff for my mistake but now am not allowed back. That seems very petty & sleazy of the manager to me and I would like an apology for banning me without good cause.
It’s also a daily fee for a microwave in your room which I thought was absurd.

I rarely give a hotel a bad review. If you have a favourite chain like I do, you stick with it and are usually satisfied. Trouble is, there are no chains in Powell River. If you're looking to stay in Powell River, hopefully there are better choices than this.
Front desk staff is generally non-existent. Rooms are dated. Beds are sparse and hard. Hot breakfast food took over an hour despite the restaurant being about 1/4 full. Breakfast staff not trained in attentive service.

The staff, Victoria, was more than apologetic when our room was not ready, made us feel welcome and went out of her way to make up for it. Even including a piece of cake for my husbands 70th birthday. Our maid was super friendly and asked twice if we needed anything else, I had asked for no fragrance too, and it was done. Thank you for making it a good day. 😊

Hotel was one of few choices in PR. The hotel is clean and beds comfortable. Included breakfast is fairly generic. After an issue with our complimentary shuttle ride from the hotel, Julie extended herself to have us shuttled to a to our water taxi and came collect us in Lang Bay. This last point was quite a big deal as the cost for a shuttle or taxi would have been a lot. She was also a wealth of information and very friendly.

We stayed one night at this hotel - booked two rooms. For me, this place checked off all the boxes.
Their only ‘miss’ was in the evening - when we checked into one of our rooms - they didn’t have the cot ready for us- it was 10:30pm by then or so. I called down and it was taken care of….
This place is CLEAN. The beds were comfortable. I slept so well. In general the lobby and courtyard were really nice— they have a hot tub- we never used it.
