IATSE Local 58
Whether mixing a live band or placing microphones on talent, count on our audio technicians to amplify whatever needs to be heard. From hanging lights to operating the latest lighting board consoles and spotlights, our members have the skills and expertise to make your show shine. We provide crew - whether large or small - to staff concerts, sporting events, trade shows, theatres, and entertainment venues across Toronto.

Our riggers know how to hang everything safely and securely, whether it's hundreds - or thousands - of pounds of equipment flown overhead. Our carpenters take designs from the page to the stage. With specialists in welding, automation, and special effects, we build everything - even the stage.
Services
Local 58 is the Toronto local of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE). For more than 100 years, we have provided professional staging services to the Toronto entertainment, convention, and trade show industries.
No form of art or entertainment is so ephemeral as a live performance. This is as true today with all the technology at our command as it was in the distant past. When the curtain comes down on a performance, the moment has passed forever. For the artists involved there is at least the passing mention in a review or the billing on a poster to remind us of their place in history.
John's early exposure to the "theatre business" through his father, Harry, a long-time President of IATSE Local 58, led to summer jobs and eventually an apprenticeship as a stagehand. These experiences informed John's passion for theatre and lighting design and his practice expanded to include the design of both stages and stage lighting systems at venues such as the O'Keefe Centre and the CNE Grandstand.
Send it with a resume and copies of your safety tickets electronically to resumes@iatse58.org or you may drop it off at our office located at 511 Adelaide Street West, Toronto. Your submission will be reviewed and we will contact you with further details as suitable work is available. As a permit worker you are expected to give yourself plenty of time to get to the venue.
Local 58 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) is committed to ending all forms of harassment and discrimination.

Awful, its members are attacking other businesses over the CNE lockout when those have no say in the situation and just trying to make ends meet. If you're going to attack anyone make it the employer you have an issue with, not smear the people you'll eventually have to work beside again.

Have done a poor job representing the public interest during this strike. Low. class and tasteless comments all over social media by its members. The national office should suspend them.

If you want to over pay for labour and get a crew of greedy lazy 'workers' then hire local 58.
all reviews are made by their members. I have NOT seen one review from a client, in fact one of their clients has fired them and that client is CNE.
beware of this gang of thugs, you can find much better labour then local 58.

Very helpful and friendly office staff at the IATSE Local 58 offices. It's a converted house on Adelaide street west so a little difficult to find. - A Richard Trus review
