Went here with friends for a wonderful lunch in August. Staff were great! I had the chicken pesto pasta. The best pasta meal I have ever had!! Still remember months later. Keep up the great work!

Manitoulin Island was Mr. H and my first trip post-pandemic reopening and the food there definitely made it better!

Bouy's was recommended to us by our BnB owner and I always take locals advice ;)

We went there after the Cup and Saucer hike so we were starving, we also had our dog with us and it was a bonus to know that he was welcome on the patio as well.

We were told the pizza here is delicious and so I picked the "Max" pizza with roast beef, garlic butter and mushrooms. It was sooo good! You know the greasy feeling you usually get after eating pizza, not only did I not have

Food was excellent! Had the Cajun rainbow trout burger, husband had the key west seasoned one. So. Damn. Good. So fresh and cooked to order. Great location with awesome views too. Went back and got a piece of the pumpkin cheese cake, very delicious, not too sweet.

This place is so awesome! Perfectly located right near the water, it has a great atmosphere. Our server was fantastic - taking care of several tables at once with ease and providing such personalized and friendly service. We tried three different pizzas and each one was very tasty. The key lime pie was to die for, it's a definite must try! We will be coming back on our next trip to the island without a doubt.

A must when you are visiting the island. We always come here for pizza and pulled pork. Absolutely delicious. Buoy's only uses fresh local ingredients. We had our small dog with us so we were able to order our food and go eat at the picnic table near the waterfront. Can't wait to come back again next year!

Delicious food, including GLUTEN FREE options (pasta and pizza - my daughter really liked the pasta but we didn’t try the pizza). GF is hard to come by at restaurants on Manitoulin (for understandable reasons) so this was very much appreciated. Friendly service and everything tasted so good.

My pizza was delicious. Ordered Bonnyeville, substituted olives for green peppers with no problems. Such a crispy fluffy crust and the topping were fresh. And the lady I ordered from was super friendly ;) Highly recommend. And they're patio is open.

Rich operates a decent restaurant, but just stay away from the pizza. It's brutal.
The hours of operation, especially during the summer months, are just abhorrent. Closing at 7pm, and not even open everyday, I'm starting to think he wants out of the business, so it's understandable. No business owner operates a business with the intention of making less money than the business is clearly capable of making.
But I digress. It's just more of the same up here on this island. Many businesses operate like this, and I think it's just the mentality in general up here.
But anyway, to the good--the Greek

Had a reservation at 6pm and they got us in around 6:10 which wasn't too bad considering we had a large party of 10 for them to accommodate and the patio isn't overly large. Ordered the "Catch of the day" which was Whitefish. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Greek salad had right amount of feta and olives and went well with the fish and some lightly roasted potatoes. Owner and staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. Some others members of our group had the pizza and said it was really good as well. Clean washrooms too. Will return.

We had two pizzas on thin crust, one pepperoni and the pulled pork. Both were really, really good. A little undercooked though. Would be worth asking for more cooked. We ate them with a great beer at the split rail brewing company across the road. Loved it.

Our hosts at the Twin Peaks B&B recommended Buoy’s Eatery and TakeOut in Gore Bay and since all their recommendations were spot-on so far we made a dinner reservation on Buoy’s patio.
As we checked out the many glowing reviews it became apparent that our choice for dinner was already made. Almost without exception reviewers recommended the pizza. All that was left for us to do was decide which of the pizzas we were going to order. See below for our choices.
Service:
Another thing most reviewers commented on consistently was the service at Buoy’s, with an emphasis on friendly and helpful

Friendly service and good food. I have been twice recently, once on the patio, and once inside, both were great experiences. Everyone is friendly, everything is clean, the washroom water is really extremely hot, and the food is good. There are lots of options available with great pizza and local beef burgers. The fish is also very good. They have a decent selection of beer including 2 from Thunder Bay!
I would recommend stopping in and having a nice cold drink and hot meal.

Terrible. Sat down inside, ordered an 8" pizza. Waited for an hour, watching 3 tables outside get served before anyone inside got their food.

There were 4 other tables that came in before us, and the waitress told them another 10 min. Told us the same thing, didn't bother. Got up and left. Waitress wanted to go punch a bill for us when we didn't even get anything.

Don't go. If you do, don't sit inside.

Great place in a small town. Came here after hiking the whole day, starving. It was amazing. Great food, very clean, friendly staff, and very well located by the bay. If you're around town, be sure to check it out. The pizza with the stuffed crust was excellent, and the key lime pie we got for dessert was amazing. One of the best I've ever tasted. Be sure to check it out.

No other restaurant in Gore Bay has Yelp reviews so we came here for the great harbor view and the food. My wife and I shared a large pizza and it was superb. Can't criticize it in any way. Also had a really fresh and tasty garden salad with house dressing. Topped it off with a delicious beer brewed by the craft brewery across the street. Waitress was friendly. Quite a bit of indoor and outdoor seating.

This has become an end of trip tradition, and sometimes beginning of trip as well.

Excellent pizza, pasta and fish since the beginning, and the view can't easily be beaten.

Richard also continues to add/change/enhance the experience trying things out to keep it a little different each time, whether it's live music, menu changes, adding a smoker to the kitchen etc never been disappointed.

And now with split rail craft brewing across the street and on tap hopefully things will continue to improve here in Gore Bay...

A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it. Amazing views of the marina from the patio. Great pizza (Veggie Tuscan) and although the Greek salad was very small, it was made really well. Overall great experience and really heart-warming that they had the Pride flag up as it made me feel that me and my husband would feel free to be ourselves here.

Great little spot to eat. Was honestly expecting a greasy-spoon type place but it was anything but! We stopped in for lunch and had their Tuscan Veggie pizza along with a couple drinks. The pizza was awesome - good handmade crust and very little grease to it! We overheard someone talk about the desserts and ended up taking the spicy turtle cheesecake and their flour-less salted caramel cake to go - both were amazing! The service was great, food was great and we can't wait to go back for dinner! P.S. they don't deep fry anything!

Drove to the restaurant and I thought should I go in. The restaurant didn't look to inviting but they made up with the great food and service. I had the whitefish dinner. It was really good. My wife had the rainbow trout that was also very good. Service was friendly and good. Highly recommend. Over looking Gore Bay Harbour.

We were staying at the Queen's Inn up the road, and the owner recommended Buoy's to us for dinner as it was a short walk away.

My husband and I sat at the outdoor deck area with a great view of Gore Bay. They had a nice selection of local Ontario beers available as well as sodas etc.

Both of us ordered the whitefish sandwich. I had mine cajun style and he had his broiled. They were both really good (we split them) but I somewhat regretted not ordering a pizza, as that seemed to be what a lot of the locals were getting. The table next to us had the loaded nachos, and they also looked

Great little place in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island that stays open year round. A lot of other places seem to close after summer when the tourists go away, so it was nice to find something open to grab a bite in mid-September.

All the food here is locally sourced - fish is from a local fishery, beef from a local farmer, and desserts are even from a local chocolatier. All food is quite reasonably priced. Unfortunately they were out if burgers when we went, but we left happy anyway.

My girlfriend had the lemon & dill whitefish. I had the Cajun whitefish. Both seasonings are made in house
