St John Smith Suzanne
Suzanne has a private practice in West Vancouver, and has over 15 years of experience providing services to individuals, couples, and families in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, and Metro Vancouver. Her certification and regulatory body is The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

Finding the right therapist is the single most important factor in determining the degree to which you ultimately feel your therapy experience was a successful one. Consequently, it's Suzanne's hope that her website will offer you enough information about her approach, and her practice, for you to make an informed decision about whether she'll be that 'right' therapist for you.
Services
I'm a certified psychotherapist with over 15 years experience helping individuals, couples, and families. I had a private practice in Ottawa, Ontario until 2010, and since that time, in West Vancouver, B.C. I'm committed to providing the highest level of service to all my clients, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, politics, ethnicity, or nationality.
There is, of course, no single therapeutic counselling approach that could possibly 'fit' every person that walks into my office. Despite the fact that many issues being addressed in therapy may, at some level, sound the same, individuals' experiences - and most importantly, their interpretation of those experiences - are often very different.
Your support feels so nurturing and has really helped me navigate some of the challenges that I've been facing these past couple of years. Thank you, Suzanne, for always listening and making me feel comfortable and safe from day one! When we first came to see Suzanne, I was ready to end our marriage, but I decided to give it one last try.
Searching for a therapist who can help you with your depression, stress, or feelings of anxiety;. Seeking assistance from a relationship counsellor to help you and your partner through specific challenges you're facing due to an affair, or simply due to the issues that most relationships experience after spending several years together (i.e., poor communication patterns, issues associated with children, loss of excitement, sexual boredom, etc.);.
Reaching out for psychological help can often be a difficult step to take. Some people may believe they should solve their personal issues themselves. Others may feel they have failed - or are weak - if they admit to needing any sort of professional help.

Yet, when individuals find themselves feeling challenged, or even overwhelmed - in their relationships, in their jobs, or even in their more general patterns of dealing with life - they often find it useful to talk to an experienced therapist who can offer insight and guidance in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment.
