Country Haven Funeral Home
These temporary measures have been decided with the recommendations made by the Embalmers and Funeral Directors Board of Newfoundland & Labrador. We will do everything in our power to allow and assist families in the grieving process and to receive the support of their family and community around them, while striving to remain responsible and protect them as well.

Our website will allow you to read the obituary's, leave messages for the family, and also provide links for memorial donations and online streaming of funeral services. Please take advantage of these services during this time. It is the mission of Country Haven Funeral Home to assist in the recognition of the value of a life lived and to facilitate meaningful ways for the family and community to celebrate the memory of their loved one.
Services
Viewing is a way to honour the transition from life to death and saying our last goodbyes. Embalming temporarily preserves the body. The casket may be open for the visitation. Open casket visitations or funeral followed by cremation is an option. Acknowledges the unique life of the person who died and the significance of that life for all who shared in it.
When planning a funeral, you and your family will want to make some decisions regarding the funeral establishment that will handle the final arrangements. Once this decision has been made, you can call on your funeral service professional to help guide you and your loved ones through the process. Your local funeral director will explain the options available to you and your family and help coordinate all of the details.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
