Services
Originally working out of his home, Dr. Joe Vandane was the first veterinarian in the Melville area. A mixed practitioner, Dr. Vandane worked on all animals and in 1974, he and the Rm's of Cana, Stanley, and Grayson opened what is now the Melville Veterinary Clinic at 202 Heritage Drive in Melville, Saskatchewan.
At Melville Veterinary Clinic, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your pet, please contact us today. Our staff will get a chance to talk to you and see if you are having any trouble with your pet. We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible.
The Melville Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Veterinary Medical Assistant to join our current medical team in a full-time position! The Melville Veterinary Clinic is a rural mixed practice that does approximately 65% small animal medicine/surgery and 35% large animal medicine/surgery.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.
Equipped with a chute, head gate, and cow tub in clinic, we are able to perform numerous surgeries for our bovine clients. Caesarean sections, displaced abomasums, abscess/wound treatment, claw amputation, exploratory, rumenotomy, and eye enucleations are just some of the surgeries we are equipped to do! Feel free to give us a call and inquire about a particular surgery if you do not see it mentioned here.

The Vet Clinic in Melville is a wonderful location for your furry babies needs. The professionalism and caring shown is second to none. They all love the animals and it shows when you enter. The Doctor and staff try their hardest to handle your pet with the least bid of stress to them. A true 5 star clinic.

We had brought our senior cat in to be put to sleep unfortunately. The staff at reception counter to Dr. Tyson was very attentive and sensitive to the needs of our kitty and the emotions we were experiencing. Dr. Tyson gave us all the time needed throughout the difficult process of saying goodbye. I would highly recommend this clinic. They treated our cat with end of life respect he deserved. Thank you!

A Sunday morning, I called because my dog needed attention. A few hours later, Dr. Johnson displayed his skills in front of me to make everything all right. Methodical, professional and wonderful. I knew everything was going to be alright from the moment I opened the door. Puppy is all good now. Two days later, to his professional credit, he called to check up on my dog’s status. Highly impressive.

I've been going to Melville Vet Clinic for about 10 years now and I can say with absolute honesty that this group of professionals are the shining stars in vet care. They epitomize not only excellent animal care, but also emotional and mental well-being. Every one of the staff are exceptionally caring and compassionate. I just can't say enough good things about every one of these people.

The vets at this clinic are nothing but amazing. We have had some bad luck with our fur babies this last year. I always new that they would do everything in there power to help get them better. Like life is sometimes you don’t win the battle but we never felt alone. They turned their compassion from our fur babies to us. The knowledge they have is remarkable and always learning and growing to make things better for their patients from geckos to squirrels to cow and calves if they don’t know the answer they will find it out. This clinic is the true meaning of team and family and I am glad to

Our family highly recommends this clinic. We have brought our guardian dog in on several occasions from things like porcupine quills to a beaver attack. They have always fit us in last minute or off hours for emergency visits. Their pricing is amazing and the service far superior to the other vet in the area.
