CAHPI members are committeed to providing Canadians with the highest level of consumer protection. The purchase of a home is the single largest investment most of us will make. This process requires the expert assistance of an experienced and qualified registered home inspector. You can be assured when you hire a member of CAHPI to inspect your home, you are hiring a professional with proven ability, experience and impartiality.
A professional inspection shows your integrity and goodwill by declaring the true condition of the property. A quality inspection discloses the true condition of a prospective purchase and lets you know exactly what buying this property entails. The reputation of a respected inspector enhances your image as a real estate professional and shows your concern for your client.
Is a cheap inspection a good idea? Sadly, the home inspection industry in our area is still unregulated and this has made the hiring of a competent home inspector that much more challenging. Q Why is there a difference in pricing between some home inspectors? A The first question I tend to be asked is how much do I charge for a home inspection.
Just out of curiosity, I went on the Internet to see what a homeowner might find if they were looking there for a home inspector. I found a few. I also found just about as many ads for how to become one. We all know that's how you become a qualified professional - on the Internet! A house is the biggest investment most people ever make in their lives - and it doesn't come with a money-back guarantee.
A typical home inspection takes anywhere from three to four hours and are conducted in accordance with the CSA-A770 Home Inspection Standard and CAHPI Standards of Practice. The exterior of the house is our normal starting point. We go up on the roof, and then proceed around the outside of the house.
