Southland Funeral Chapel (formerly Reardon's Funeral Service) is an independent, locally owned, full service funeral home and has been serving Taber and surrounding communities for more than forty five years. Services
During our lives we plan for many situations; education, having a family, vacations, weddings and especially our retirement. However, many neglect to plan their funeral as it is a realization of our own mortality. We purchase insurance to help us in situations that may happen, such as accidents, fire, floods and theft.
In 2015, it came to our attention that there were three unmarked graves located in the northwest corner of the Taber Memorial Garden. Feeling strongly that every individual, regardless of their social status, race or creed deserves the respect of a dignified burial, Southland Funeral Chapel made the decision to mark the graves of these three men.
A traditional funeral service for burial or cremation is most often the service of choice. The traditional service is a meaningful event for the family, and it gives friends and associates an opportunity to offer their tributes by way of flowers or memorial donations, pay their respects, and provide support to the family.
We promise to help create a event meaningful that acknowledges and celebrates the life of the person who has died and brings healing to the living. It means applauding their life and rejoicing in the fact that they lived. A "Meaningful Event" is a service that touches everyone present with an understanding of who the person was that died and what they lived for.

Southland is truly a gem. We felt so lucky to deal with them for both my grandma and grandpa's arrangements. In both cases, they were professional, compassionate, organized and reliable. Darryl is wonderful to work with and has the perfect calm presence for this type of work. Very thankful to have this resource in Taber.
