Since 1917 Mennonite Trust Ltd. has been providing financial and estate services, bringing financial peace to Saskatchewan families and individuals. Formed as a joint partnership between Mennonite Church Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches, Mennonite Trust Ltd. is brings Christian principles to its practices.

Mennonite Trust was first known as the Mennonite Union Waisenamt. The concept came from Mennonites who emigrated from Russia. The trust organization dealt with inheritances and the caring for of orphans and widows. The guiding principles of operation were based on Isaiah 1:17, "Learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow" (RSV).
Services
Your Estate plan is an expression of your care for loved ones and for causes you are passionate about. The best plans are legally sound, adequate for the present and dynamic enough for future needs. At Mennonite Trust, we have the experience and expertise to create such a plan with you. Your first step is to call us!
Are you over the age of 18? If the answer is yes, a Will is one of those documents that should always be kept current. With a properly drafted Will in place, your estate can have a significant impact on those you care about most. The loved ones you leave behind will be in charge of ensuring all of your wishes are carried out, and that your possessions and financial details are looked after.
Are you finding it difficult to manage your personal finances, paperwork, and obligations? Are you finding it hard to remember to pay your bills, or perhaps it is not easy to get to the bank to deposit your cheques? Maybe you are looking after a loved one like an elderly parent or relative and are finding that you do not have the time to handle it properly?
Many families struggle when the Executor does not know what to do, or does not communicate, or plays favorites and misappropriates resources. It need not be so. Experience - MTL has administered estates since 1917. We have in-house specialists who are well-equipped to deal with investments, real estate, accounting, and even tax returns for the deceased (T1) and the estate (T3).
An executor role for many people can be intimidating. They will face tasks such as interpreting the Will, contacting multiple institutions, changing accounts, minimizing and completing personal and estate taxes, applying for letters probate, transferring land titles, assessing assets, managing investments and so on.

We recently updated our wills and discussed financial planning with Shawn at Mennonite Trust in the Saskatoon office. Carl & I both left feeling complete peace and confidence that our affairs will be looked after if something unforeseen happens to either one of us. It’s not something anyone wants to think about but we want our family to know that they can be rest assured that our estates are in exceptionally good hands and they will not have to take care of things alone. Thank you so much.
