Jay Passi is a Peel region based lawyer who has over twenty-three years of experience in criminal law. He has focused exclusively on criminal law, and successfully defended clients in a wide array of cases. Mr. Passi has appeared before every level of court: Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Rick Patel has a passion for criminal law. He is diligent and determined to obtain the best result possible for his clients. Though he will tackle criminal cases of all types, he has developed a considerable interest and expertise in 'driving related' cases, specifically: impairment by drug/alcohol, driving with excess blood alcohol and dangerous driving.

It is a popular misconception that Assault always requires that force be actually used; Assault can also occur when the use of force is only attempted or threatened.
Section 11(e) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms states: "Any person charged with an offence has the right not to be denied reasonable Bail without just cause." Bail is one of the most crucial steps in the criminal process. An individual that is denied Bail will be held in custody pending an appeal of that decision or until the case is completed, which could take months if not years.
