I never take cabs anymore, but last night at Northlands we decided to flag one down.
Past experiences with Uber trying to find me at the grounds prevented me from using ride share.
The cab driver was very polite. The cab was scrupulously
clean. Smooth driving. He said "Home sweet home" upon drop off.
Did not surcharge.
Maybe have to rethink Uber.

Today, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Edmonton Yellow Cabs. Originally, I had booked two bookings a month ago for my school for a basketball game. Unfortunately, only one showed up on time while the other arrived for pickup one hour later than my originally scheduled appointment. As a result, my basketball team had to run a limited amount of players. Ultimately, this resulted in us losing the game and our chances of making the playoffs.

I had such a great experience with this cab company. I hardly ever take a cab but my car needed work and I needed to get home as you never know how long car repairs will take. The cab was immaculately clean, no smell at all (except maybe new car smell ) and the driver was very friendly and polite. He arrived only a few minutes after I ordered the cab, and he took a direct route to my house. As I said I don't often take cabs but the next time I need one I know who I'm calling.

I can understand now more then ever why yellow cab has so many bad reveiws they just dont care how they play with peoples job or life book cab over half n hour befor i would any other time n still have not showed call back to see when the cab will be here n found a very rude person to talk to time to get rid of them n get a company that will look after n do the job needed

My wallet and phone was stolen from a cab driver on purpose! I had went to a concert and they picked me up and starlyte was supposed to be dropped off at whyte ave. The driver seemed friendly but When i got out i checked my pockets and sure enough wallet just dropped he had his window slightly rolled down i said i need my wallet he asked are you from here i said no and he drove off never again

Tonight incident shows why Yellow Cab is a thing of the past, is greedy and not part of the community. My wife injured her eye and went to the hospital by ambulance suspecting the worst, damaged eyeball, ripped eyelid and pain. Of course she went without ID and cash and by ambulance. To get home yellow cab refused the trip. We live in an affluent suburb but Yellow belly was too concerned on being rippled off and declined the trip. Co-op on the other hand was polite supportive and helped the vision impaired bandaged woman to the house. Tonight I made the decision to support co-op and shun barrel

Absolutely WORST service I've ever gotten from a cab company. We took cab #113. I was going from jasper Ave to southwest with my fiancé, and he felt sick to his stomach and threw up (mostly outside of the car, there was barely any in the back seat). The cab driver then tells me promptly it is a 150 dollar clean up fee.....WHAT?! I just took a 25 min cab ride, already spending 45 dollars, and I was 10 seconds from my house when he drives to drop that on me! This company kicked a poorly dressed 19 year old kid out of the cab in -37 c weather on a rural road outside of Beaumont because he ran out of money. I will NEVER use yellow cab. Yellow cab has been asked to respond and their response?... "no comment"

I have been a faithful customer for 2 years now with yellow cab. I take taxis twice a day on weekdays and sometimes more as I do not drive. I have never had a bad experience. All the drivers are polite and some extremely friendly. I have gotten to know many drivers as they drive me often and they always drive safely. I've even had some take me to my destination and drop me off and chose to stay and wait knowing I would need a taxi home even though the meter was not running! That's true customer service. Would not suggest taking yellow cab unless uber is unavailable. Took a cab home from Edmonton international airport. Which according to google maps is a 16 minute ride from our place. However 41 ave has been closed for awhile so the cab driver decided to charge us an extra 5$ for our ride. Ended up being 47$ for the 16 minute ride. Drivers should not be allowed to make up fares or charge for roads being closed. A factor which is out of the control of the passenger.

The only reason i gave a one star is because there are no negative ratings. Never in my entire life have i been so disappointed and embarrassed. PLEASE AVOID THESE TAXIS AND USE OTHER ALTERNATIVES. Poor Poor Poor with the years i have lived in Canada this was just a bloody joke.

I don't take cabs at all except for to drunk to drive home, but I'm writing this because my step daughter left her wallet with like $200 cash all her credit cards and I.D in there and it was a really nice coach wallet too and the cab driver returned it right too our house with everything In it! Awesome don't really expect this I'm more of a "realist" when it comes to random people but again thx yellow cab #330! Awesome guy! I'll definitely remember to use you guys from now on!

It's really touch and go with this cab company! Some days I would give them no stars other days I'd like to give them 5 stars. So I'm going to meet in the middle with 3!
What I like about this company is their smart phone app. While many have complained about it, I've never personally had an issue with it. My taxi always comes quickly and it's nice to not have to wait on the phone, and have the option to book our cab in advance.

First time I called them it was 9pm in an area of town you shouldn't be alone after dark. Dispatch said right away to 20mins so I waited. Thirty minutes later I'm calling them back and they tell me he'll be there soon. Fourth minutes later the guy shows up.
Second time I call I'm told the samething. Thirty minutes later I call back and they put a rush on it. Another half hour and the guy finally shows. No reason for a taxi to take that long.

We were going to a party with unlimited alcohol and wanted to enjoy it so we took a cab. It was a Saturday during the holidays so I called an hour and half in advance. The dispatch person must have been new as I heard another voice beside him telling him what to say. The cab arrived right on time and we received a call to inform us he arrived.
