Urbanomic Interiors was founded in 2004 by Heidi Helm after graduating from the Advanced Interior Design program at Algonquin college. Instead of waiting for the right position to open up for her, she took matters into her own hands and created the job she wanted, which was to design boutique commercial spaces and urban homes.
Now we spend our days playing "work" with our fellow design lovers and construction professionals. We strive to create a working atmosphere that is energetic, dynamic & nurturing. We aim for a collaborative approach where everyone on the team feels valued, from the delivery people to the cleaners.

We offer short-term consultation packages for those who just need a little professional input, all the way up to a full-service experience for those who want us to take care of all the detailed planning and make it all happen.
These are some of the words that we would use to describe our preferred style(s) of home decor. We generally begin with a minimal contemporary or modern aesthetic as a base, adding in geometric patterns, industrial textures, sculptural lighting, graphic artwork, and other touches that speak to each of our clients' unique needs and personalities.
The kitchen is the hub and the heart of the home, where families come together daily, and where entertaining inevitably takes place. It's no wonder that kitchen remodels are one of the the most sought after home improvements by today's homeowners. A well planned kitchen can make meals and clean up easier, keep accidents at bay, and make entertaining a joyous experience.
Bathrooms are rooms of ritual and relaxation. It's where we prepare ourselves to face the day, and where we come to unwind when it's all over.
We tend to take modern luxuries like a working bathroom for granted, to the point where the magic that happens in a bathroom is barely noticeable any more; water flows our from pipes hidden inside walls with the push of a lever, the temperature easily being adjusted to our preference, and then drains away with even less effort.

We hired Heidi to rethink the kitchen at the cottage, and can't say enough good things about our experience and highly recommend her services. Before meeting Heidi, I’d had consultations with other designers trying to figure out how to improve my space. They gave me ideas but I got overwhelmed with the logistics and the choices within 2 mins of them leaving. Heidi explained the process clearly, provided me with enough options that I could make clear choices and she dealt with all the logistics. She made the process easy for me. She listened to my likes and dislikes and came up with the best design for me. Years later I’m still thrilled with the results. Best of all, I didn’t get overwhelmed once.
