This family owned and operated century old, heritage barn has been given a new life while retaining its original charm.
It has been updated to meet with current codes however it is a true barn, therefore it is not heated or cooled so we offer it from June to the end of October. Services
In 2013 our family of four, bought the farm with the intent to restore the home and barn for a small hobby farm. Everything was in pretty rough shape but we could see potential in the property as a whole. We put many long hours into restoring the house, the barn and the property. After working on the barn we soon realized how special it really was, that's when we decided we couldn't keep this gem to ourselves, so Windgate Weddings was born.
Showings are by appointment only. All appointments must be confirmed 24hrs in advance. There is a lot of prep work that goes into a showing, if you need to cancel please let us know as soon as possible. We are located at 131 Old Granville Road, Upper Granville, Nova Scotia Canada B0S 1A0. Turn right onto Evangeline trail, go through Bridgetown, towards Annapolis Royal (43km-7 min).
There are many great places to stay in our area, from motels, cabins, cottages to B&B's and Campgrounds. Please note that we list these as a courtesy, we recommend that you visit them in person to see what works best for you. Three days of access! Saturday weddings have access Friday afternoon for decorating, Saturday until midnight (subject to regulations) and again Sunday morning until noon for any clean-up and gathering of decorations. Our maximum capacity is 150 (may change with restrictions), this includes your wedding party and vendors.
There are lots of places for pictures around the property, the rock wall foundation, fields, mountains, dirt road are just a few great backdrops. The possibilities are endless, with a some notice we can help with props like hay bales, pitch forks, a tractor or animals.
