MEC Projects Ltd. was founded in 2014, have discovered an opening in the industry for an electrical contractor who was willing to go the extra mile for the client. Within MEC Projects, we have dedicated teams consisting of highly skilled journeyperson who each specialize in industrial controls, commercial or residential fields. We provide a wide range of electrical contracting services to meet all construction needs as well as maintaining several operating permits. A H2Flow system was installed, to provide CERMAQ Canada with a 30m3/hr waste waster treatment system. Work included power distribution, fully integrated PLC and automation controls. Completed at the end of 2017, this project was one of our favourites. Working with BKC Contracting and the folks at Tofino Brew Co, we completed a brewery expansion and relocation into their new space.
The project mainly consisted of a full scale renovation of two hotels, two new bars, a new restaurant and kitchen, new Tuff Fit gym and brand new marina. Project began in early 2017 and was complete summer 2017. The 1909 restaurant was demolished and rebuilt to the current highest standard. MEC was tasked with electrical design and execution of the project, which crews completed flawlessly.
Working with Houston Homes and the Hackett Group, MEC completed the Sea Otter Town home subdivision in spring of 2018. The project included the construction of the individual homes, electrical rooms, street lighting and lighting kiosks. Stay tuned for more information. MEC Projects and Saywell Construction will be starting the 14-unit affordable housing project on Sharp Road Tofino starting 2021.
