Services
Gathering, Celebration of Life, Funeral Service, Memorial Service are the terms commonly used for an event honouring the life and death of a loved one. These events can be private for close family members and friends, or public and open to all. They can be as unique and personal as suits your loved one.
I was born and raised in the Yukon and I am happy to call it home. I have been working at Heritage North Funeral Home since 2010. Since then, I have completed the apprenticeship program to become a licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer/ Cremationist. I truly love my career and all aspects of the funeral industry.
It can be so difficult to make that first call to a funeral home when yourself or a loved one is nearing the end of life. But if you can, contacting the funeral home to gather information and guidance for what happens after someone dies can give you greater peace of mind and help prepare you for the time to come.
If a death has occurred, please call 867-668-4484. Our voicemail will have the contact information for our on-call attendant who can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to care for your immediate needs. They will have a funeral director follow up with you to provide you with information on the immediate next steps, and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
It can be hard to start a conversation with family members and/or friends to discuss our wishes and desires for when we die. We tend to think that we have time to plan or that our family knows what our wishes are. Most of us do not know how or when we will die. It is important that we know what our loved ones want, and to let others know what we want.
