As a full-service animal hospital, Durham Veterinary Clinic accepts both emergencies as well as less urgent medical, surgical, and dental cases. To make sure we can provide the best care possible to these cases, we have Dr. McCleary on our team to apply his 24+ years of clinical and emergency experience.
Durham Veterinary Clinic is proud to provide a team of caring individuals to help the residents and pets around Bowmanville, Ontario. Dr. Robert McCleary graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 1994. He was raised on a farm near Campbellford, Ontario. From a young age, Robert has always had a love of animals.

And to ensure that you can offer your pet such care, Durham Veterinary Clinic offers a wide variety of services for pet wellness and pet health. Keeping your pet healthy involves keeping their vaccines up to date.
At Durham Veterinary Clinic, we highly recommend that you get your puppy or kitten spayed or neutered when they are around six months of age. This is especially important for female pets as ideally we should spay them prior to their first heat cycle. Before we perform our spaying or neutering procedure, we will recommend pre-anaesthetic bloodwork.

We have 2 of our kitty boys that are taken care of by this veterinary clinic, and we have always been satisfied with the quality of care they receive. They are always great with communication and keep you up to date on your pets shots, health, and any other suggested needs for our pets. Definitely recommend this veterinary clinic!

Dr McCleary removed two tumors from beloved dog Molly's stomach, we have since moved out of province .Molly is doing absolutely fantastic, she is behaving like a much younger dog .I really appreciate the care we received from the whole team .I would highly recommend Dr Mccleary to anyone , absolute rockstar VET

Recently found out my cat was diabetic and its a bit of a hassle to get started with. The vet tech's here and Dr. McCleary have been extremely responsive and the one who demonstrated how to administer insulin and answered all of our questions was great to work with.
Only complaint I had was a lack of written instruction which hasn't had any negative consequences for us yet and probably won't at all.
Otherwise can definitely attest to the fact that this place cares about patient care over quantity/overselling treatment. Have had consistent follow-ups about our care and only ever paid for our initial

Fantastic clinic and great staff. Dr. Rob McCleary did an amazing work with our two cats and treated them with with literally no stress for them, even for something as scary as an eye drop for our oldest boy. He also takes time to explain what's going on and make sure the follow up is made. Shout out to the amazing team too! I would totally recommend paying a visit to the clinic whenever you have a doubt for your pets!
