Vintage Flooring started out in 1994 with a simple goal. To give you, the customer, the most satisfying experience possible. We accomplish this in three ways; by carrying the best quality flooring products on the market, by hiring expert staff who not only help you select the right flooring, but who can provide a beautiful floor installation too, and lastly, by going out of our way to accommodate your needs - whatever those may be.
If you're committed to making the world a greener place, you'll be happy to know we provide flooring options that are environmentally sustainable and look great. Eco-friendly floors save you money in the long-term as well, because they're made with durable, natural materials that outperform budget flooring.

Darrell opened this company at its first location on Joe Howe Drive over 20 years ago. He has spent a considerable amount of time at the rink watching his three boys play hockey over the years. His entire family, including his wife Leslie, enjoy golfing at their home course of Glen Arbour. Jordan recently joined our team and has been a welcome addition.
Whether your building or renovating, wood floors sell homes and once you've installed top quality wood flooring from Vintage you'll never want to leave. At Vintage we deal in high quality pre-finished solid and engineered hardwood, as well as in unfinished hardwood flooring. It's an excellent investment for your home because it will last a lifetime.
Vintage Flooring offers a broad selection of carpet, including wool. More than other flooring option, carpet offers the greatest range of colours and textures - so you're sure to find the perfect fit for your home. It also acts like a mini layer of insulation, adding warmth to your home as well as absorbing sounds to make for a quiet setting.
Laminate flooring is an affordable flooring option that offers a lot of flexibility in terms of selection. You can choose from styles designed to look like hardwood flooring, tile and marble, but that come at much lower costs and are easier to install. Laminate flooring is also a durable option. It stands up to daily wear and tear, water spills and even resists sun damage.
Customers love our cork products for Kitchens and basements. At Vintage Flooring, we have one of the largest displays of cork flooring in Halifax. You'll find a surprising amount of textures and colours to choose from. Cork offers a similar aesthetic to hardwood flooring, but is a natural shock absorber so it's very comfortable, even in bare feet.

Vintage Flooring completed three separate projects for us this past year. Our hardwood floors were sanded and re-finished in May 2021. Corbel brackets and speaker shelves were custom built in their on-site wood shop. Ceramic tile flooring with Schluter in-floor heating system was installed in our two bathrooms in January 2022. The projects were completed on time and on budget. All of the contractors were top notch and we were very satisfied with the process and the finished product. Thank you to the Vintage team!

Wow what a fantastic experience and the most beautiful craftsmanship!!!
During my partners new home build. There was a great discussion about what type of flooring to install.
My past experience with wood flooring was less than satisfactory due to several reasons, quality of finish, durability of engineered wood, to the gaps and cracks that pre-finished flooring allows for dirt to deposit.
I suggested a maple finish in place . The floor is absolutely outstanding 👏. I cannot say enough about the care and quality of the work that was done.

We would very quickly recommend Darrell and his team at Vintage flooring. We were putting new hardwood in our kitchen and he had to try and match what we had in the rest of our main floor. He was able to source same size and colour. Workmanship was fantastic and job was completed in a timely manner. Overall very happy!

We recently had our stairs refinished, new railing installed, as well as installation of new hardwood and refinishing of existing hardwood on main level. Everyone was great to deal with from start to finish. The installers were professional and experienced. There was excellent communication throughout the process. We would use them again and recommend to others.

Where to begin. Need to replace some hardwood and ceramic on the main level of my home. Went to Vintage and spoke to sales person who was very knowledgeable and fourth coming with information. Decided I would get a formal quote after being given a price per SQft verbally. Well after several follow up emails asking for the quote I was given a price that was not the same at all as what was discussed. Was then quoted another price verbally on a different width wood. After several more reminder emails and voice mails I was once again quoted a different price what was significantly higher.

Finally.... Peter carpet to the house and looked at the carpet. He looked around, touched every seam easily without having to look hard to find them. Told me that Darrel (the owner) doesn't know what he's talking about and said that everything looks fine but he would talk to Darrel and call me in two days.
Fast forward about a week and a half and Peter offered to come back and try to fix a few of the seams but most were fine. He did warn is that trying to fix the seams (that he admits are sub-standard) may cause the problem to get worse and they will not guarantee anything.
Needless

Terrible experience! Vintage installed our wood stairs and railings in our new home construction. After six months of light use the stain on the stairs treads, risers and side paneling began to wear off. It looked horrible! After contacting vintage (in person and on the phone several times) they finally sent out a specialist to look at it. The specialist informed us that the stairs needed to be completely sanded down and refinished at our cost.
I ended up having another company fix the problem since they did not seem interested in customer satisfaction & standing by their product. Needless

What a disappointment.
Referred to Vintage by our contractor for flooring for a basement renovation project, we had a very positive first experience: knowledgeable sales rep, quality product (Mirage engineered hardwood) and a discounted price. Little did I know that I was at the top of the slippery slope of disappointment.
The first disappointment was in the staff sent to rebuild a set of stairs in our 1930's arts and crafts style house. He was junior, inexperienced and sent to work by himself. Turns out that treads for the stairs were made facing the wrong way. Just the first glimpse at
