Our 7 luxury chalets and fine dining restaurant are nestled cozily on a private mountainside acreage only 5 minutes from downtown Golden, BC. What makes this chalet special? It's like an adventure staying in the Adventure Chalet, kind of like getting the top bunk at summer camp! This chalet inspires images of a mountain chalet nestled into the Alps. The quaint chalet is the only one with a sturdy wood ladder leading to the loft bedroom with queen bed.
This quaint chalet was custom built to reflect true mountain lifestyle. The Adventure Chalet provides the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the Canadian Rockies. The rustic feel of this chalet is largely accredited to the interior's woodwork and the loft bedroom accessible by a sturdy, custom made six-step ladder.
Looking for a cute and cozy escape for 2? Look no further! This chalet offers all the comforts of home during your mountain escape. The Cedar Chalet has a great central location close to the Cedar House Restaurant and backs on to the manicured gardens. This amenity filled chalet features a private deck with BBQ and hot tub and is equipped with a full kitchen and laundry facilities.
The Dragonfly Chalet is perched on the side of Mount 7, allowing the most stunning views of the Columbia Valley, Columbia River and surrounding mountain ranges from the private deck and hot tub. Two private bedrooms with a queen bed in each and a comfortable pull out couch in living room, this charming chalet can comfortably sleep 6 adults.

Trying to get here we got caught in the chaos of the snow storm that blew through Nov 14th. This was literally the best place to get stuck and snowed in for a few days. 10/10 what more can I say. The mountain view chalet has exactly that! Wow what an incredible view!! Thanks for an amazing little getaway :)

What a wonderful place to unwind and reconnect for our 10th wedding anniversary!! Our trip started out as a complete disaster but Cedar House treated us like family. They went above and beyond and turned our trip into a holiday we will cherish and remember forever. We absolutely loved our time here and can't wait to come back to this little slice of heaven.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful place! We rented the mountain view chalet and we loved the atmosphere. Easy to get there but you feel if you are in the middle of the woods even though you are not! Perfect getaway when you want to relax and disconnect from the city and you have a PRIVATE HOT TUB ON THE DECK!!!

I typically don't write these reviews but felt very compelled to share my experience with Cedar House Chalets publicly. My son and I arrived at 3pm (Dec 5) for check in and entered the chalet to an incredibly strong smell, likely from the previous renters. We did open all of the windows as per Jannis’ suggestions, the staff was kind of enough to provide a scented candle to assist with the smell. My son and I left the chalet for a few hours or so to get away from the smell. Wewere unable to remedy the smell before we checked out the following morning - it was rather unpleasant. In addition

Its exactly what its supposed to be, cozy mountain cabin getaway! We had an amazing stay, the cabin was great, service was really good even with these weird times. There was always someone there to help and the cabin was fitted with everything you need and lots of fire wood for the great fireplace! Would recommend for anyone!

Just got home after spending 2 amazing Nights in the Adventure Chalet! What can I say, what an amazing experience. so quiet. So beautiful. followed Restrictions perfectly. The staff is always out and about making sure the hot tubs are kept up properly. Plan to make this a yearly trip! Highly Recommend!!!!!!

This is my second time at this place but in a different chalet. The adventure chalet. Absolutely love it! Cutest little set up inside with the loft bedroom area. It was really neat. Nice big deck and the hot tub was clean. I have nothing but good to say about this place.
By the way the first time was also great too.
I’m excited to come back, choose another chalet and have another epic experience!

Not sure about the business model for this restaurant, as it certainly seems out of the way. On a Wednesday night in early October there were only 10 others dining. Perhaps there are more tourists in the area than I realize to support this ambitious restaurant.

Only by accident we tripped on The Cedar House Resturant. Corey Fraser and beautiful Annie Clark should have a 100 foot journey in Vancouver but they choose Golden. Put on a suit jacket dont tell significant other, surprise her. Very romantic 11/10. Meal extraordinary. Ambiance perfect. Best of the best. Vancouver trained Corey Fraser knows what hes doing. Can sit at bar and visit with Corey and watch your dish being made if you want. Just like movies. Cool. Im full!!! Make sure you go!

Came here for our anniversary dinner and it was fantastic! Service, ambiance, and food were all above expectations. We were nervous about taking our 1.5 year old with us since we were on vacation, but they had a high chair and were able to make a simple pasta for him. They also didn't leave him out of the soup starter and palate cleanser sorbet (which he ate all three). Highly recommend this place if you're staying in Golden or Kicking Horse.

This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. The dishes are beautifully crafted and flavourful. The portions are ample and the ambiance delightful. The elk was so tender it fell off the bone. The veal ravioli left you wanting more. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection. Every dish had a brilliant array of vegetables that tasted like they were picked that day. Definitely worth the drive.

Wow, this was a great find for us. The food was excellent, even if the menu was a little small. The service was impeccable, our server was friendly, attentive and went out of her way to provide me a written recipe for the maple whiskey sour, which was the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and creamy. Next time we're in Golden, I'll definitely be back!

When a local recommended this restaurant, and her friend commented "it's okay to moan while you eat, it's that good, and I do every time"... you know you can't miss trying this restaurant! As vegetarians, we decided to email beforehand, and heard right back from the chef, Corey Fraser, that he would have a few tasty vegetarian options for us; we were in. It was amazing and in particular the flavors were, as my wife says "mouthwatering". Try it when you're in Golden and see what you think. We stopped by after a long day of driving, on a recommendation from a local. We weren't overly hungry so ordered two appetizers and a main course between the three of us. While we were waiting we were brought warm bread with an amuse bouche platter. Such a treat!

Yelp has a lot of 5 star reviews for Golden which I have trouble believing but Cedar House is honest to goodness freaking amazing. The location is a puzzler because the chef could probably work anywhere because he's so talented but obviously wanted a slower paced life away from where more restaurants of this caliber would be found. That being said finding this place is a total gem. A bit spendy but all things considered I'm not unhappy to pay for what they deliver.
