Started by Murray Orgel in the early 70's, as a small store on the corner of Gage Avenue and Beach Road, the family-owned business quickly gained a reputation for offering fine products at discount prices. It soon outgrew that little store and in 1982, the business moved to Ottawa Street. It was also at this time that the electrical wholesale department was enlarged, to supply contractors and home renovators with all their electrical needs.

USELESS. Absolutely useless. ZERO customer service skills. Didn't even ACT like my business mattered. Must have been a relative of the owner behind the desk with an attitude like the dude who "served" me. NOT at all helpful in fact, made it a point to make clear he could not help me. Not because he didn't have what I wanted in stock - but could not offer me any advise on the wire I needed because he was not an electrician. Further saying even if he was, he could not advise me on anything. Seriously? I had told him the gauge (0 or 1/0) I needed and showed him the connectors I was planning on using

We have been purchasing electrical supplies from Electromart at the Brampton Street location in Hamilton for years. We appreciate their sales associates' speedy responses to our inquiry about product and their pre-packaging of orders. Prices for product are reasonable and fairly competitive. Only stock quantities are sometimes an issue - leaving us to search for parts elsewhere when in a time crunch to finish a project.
