Our two clinicians and administrative staff provide consistent care and have a total of over 60 years of combined experience in the hearing health field. At Murray Hearing, each patient is always cared for by the same clinician, as building a relationship involves a lot more than just understanding the hearing loss: it's about understanding your lifestyle and particular needs.
To begin with, all hearing aids dispensed in Ontario must meet specific standards and requirements for quality and technology. But knowing that all hearing aids have the -potential- to meet an individual's needs does not necessarily help them to choose which device is the most appropriate.
Our approach to selecting hearing aids is primarily based upon an individual's needs and lifestyle, and not rushing to talk about 'the best technology, ' as frankly, that is basically putting the horse before the cart.The first step in the process is to provide a full hearing test. We had been looking for someone honest and reliable that could provide us with replacement hearing aids. Our previous experience with hearing aid providers had not been very good as the after-purchase support was much less than we expected. We found the Ian Murray Hearing Centre while doing an Internet search.

I brought my 12 y/o daughter to visit Ian today due to a wax build up in both ears. She was incredibly nervous as we have tried many attempts to remove the wax (visits to the MD, flushing, oil, etc) and nothing seemed to work. She was in pain, frustrated and nervous.
Within the first 20 seconds, as he met us in the waiting room, his calm demeanour, humour, professionalism reduced her anxiety and gave me the confidence this would be a positive experience.

Integrity. I visited Ian Murray Hearing Centre because I often find myself asking others to repeat themselves. He performed a thorough examination, and a full hearing test. I was somewhat relieved to hear (sorry for the pun) that my hearing is at the usual levels for my age. He didn't try to sell me a single thing, and the test was free. I don't know what the industry is like as a whole, but Ian Murray is definitely as honest as it gets. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Ian is THE guy to go see for ear wax removal. There is no point in going anywhere else. The micro-suction technique is the superior way of getting wax out with minimal hazard. Don't waste your time with the water flushing method, or waiting 9 months or more to go see an ENT doctor who will do the same service. He has been doing this thing specifically for over 10 years. He really knows what he's doing. He is very easy to deal with and explains everything very well. People from all over the place come all the way to Ottawa just to see him for this purpose. OMG.....I am so thrilled to say I can hear again! Ian Murray managed to clear my ears of wax so I am no longer affected! It was painless and almost a pleasant experience! Ian is funny and engaging and explains what he is doing. I was not nervous and thrilled I went to him. He is an ear GURU! Can't say enough about his professionalism.

I see that Ian Murray has a lot of good reviews but for me it's often suspicious. That a side I went to see him for my tinnitus since it's something that he treats has per his office sign and website. I don't recommend you see him because he basically was talking non sense on the subject of tinnitus and didn't give any good informations or advice.

I recently brought my elderly mother for a severe case of ear wax buildup. She has dementia with hostile emotional outbursts and was very resistant to attending the treatment. Once I finally got her in the clinic, Ian Murray seemed to have a magical gift in his interactions with her - patient, witty, informative and generous. He removed the wax successfully which would likely not have been possible through traditional approaches. Very professional and friendly at the same time. Talks you through his procedure while doing so you understand what the process. After wax removal, felt like the first time I was hearing (super hearing). Probably the best Doc in field at what he does hands down!
