Almonte Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice with 5 veterinarians who are dedicated to your pet and livestock health and welfare. They are assisted by a great support staff, who will greet you with a warm welcome and help with questions you may have. We work with dogs, cats, cattle and other farm animals. Come visit our small animal practice and see the new technologies and development we have to serve you and your pets better!
Services
The clinic had been established 5 years earlier as Almonte Animal Hospital when Drs. Larry and Nancy Caven purchased the long-established veterinary service of Dr. Sandy Hanna, who originally had the 613-256-3443 telephone number for veterinary services in Almonte! Dr. Ross ran a small animal and food animal practice there for 4 years, with occasional additional vets, then opened the current facility in January of 1996.
Dr. Osso joined the team at AVS in spring of 2015 as a graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College. She is a mixed animal practitioner. She has particular interests in behaviour and reproduction in small animals, as well as bovine and small ruminant practice. She lives in Carleton Place with her two rottweilers, Samara and Tali.
Eunah moved to Canada from South Korea in 2014. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Algonquin College in 2017, and became a Registered Veterinary Technician that same year. Her interests as a veterinary technician are anesthetics, cytology, and dental procedures. In her free time she enjoys hiking, doing yoga, snowboarding.
Medical Examinations - We must not forget that our pets need to see their veterinarian just as we need to see our doctor. The need for vaccinations, parasite control, flea and tick control, heart worm prevention, dental care and cleaning, nutrition and physical conditioning are just some of the aspects covered in your pet routine medical examination.
At Almonte Veterinary Services, we promote Dental Health Month throughout the entire Year!. Just like humans, pets need dental care too. Young animals should have their teeth assessed for signs of bite problems (malocclusions), extra and missing teeth. Starting dental care at a young age, helps get your pet and family into good habits to prevent dental disease before it occurs.

I tried several other clinics and settled on AVS, in large part due to Dr Rob Clark. He's a huge guy with a huge heart who understands and empathizes with pet parents/ owners. Very knowledgeable, patient and compassionate, he helped me develop a care plan for my pup, who is now recovering from a rare bone disorder.
