The work of surveyors is very important in avoiding issues down the road. Surveyors update boundary lines and prepare sites for construction so that legal disputes are prevented. Surveyors make precise measurements to determine property boundaries. They provide data relevant to the shape and contour of the Earth's surface for engineering, mapmaking, and construction projects.

Here at Blackburn Surveying, we strive to be available where you need us, when you need us. As a family-owned operation, we pride ourselves on not just meeting our client's expectations but exceeding them. We take great pride in being active members of the community that has supported us since the beginning and are proud to sponsor many local events and teams!
Services
Our family business was established in 2014 and has been providing dependable, great quality surveying services across Western Canada since its inception. As-built surveys are compared to the original design to ensure that all improvements are conforming to the proposed site plan. These surveys are extremely important as they capture and record any variations from original engineered plans. They are also one of the only surveys in which the locations of new or replaced utilities are shown.
Construction Staking or Site Layout is the process of interpreting construction plans and marking the design locations of proposed new site features, such as roads, buildings, ditches or grades. The staked points are then used to guide the construction team to ensure that the site is built as it is intended.
Drones are becoming one of the most popular advanced technologies to help many businesses in many different ways. Drone surveying is the most efficient way to have your gravel pit mapped for annual mine plans and Notice of Work Applications. Blackburn Surveying's team of professionals is sure to provide you with a complete set of PDFs that are acceptable for any application.
This ground data may be broken down to calculate stockpile volumes as well as required cut or fill volumes. We also offer earthworks volumes calculated using a GPS to create and compare surfaces for precise quantities. Knowing the volumes remaining or in excess on a project is essential to ensuring the project is completed on budget and as designed.
