The Bakery has been serving up delicious baked goods and breads in Gravenhurst, Ontario since 1959. Owned and operated by the Reblein family, Jay & Robyn (3rd generation) help run the Bakery with their parents Peter & Judy. The 4th generation has arrived, but is still too young to participate - although he loves to play in the back and push the mixer button!

Our bakers are committed to quality and consistency. Each morning starts with fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and dedication (plus a little coffee!). We are proud to operate a scratch bakery where even our donuts are made daily and everyone knows to come early because once they're gone, they're gone (until tomorrow of course.)

In 1959, Fritz and Ursula Rebelein and their family moved to Gravenhurst and purchased a small bakery business at 141 Brock Street. The original business came equipped with a small pizza oven for baking and an old bathtub for washing dishes. On their first day open Ursula was suing a cake box as her cash register.

Menu Report

We will try our best to accommodate same day orders, but recommend placing your order the day before to avoid disappoinment! Baked fresh every morning, our variety of breads, buns and baguettes are a great addition to your morning coffee, lunch sandwiches and dinner parties. Our bakers are committed to quality and consistency.

Great service with a smile. donuts have delicious toasted coconut, prices are reasonable for the quality and the bread is nice and fresh. I look forward to trying the Chelsea buns, they're the talk of the town

This place is wonderful. The young lady that serviced me was very helpful and patient. I wanted one pastry but ended up buying four 😂. This is Gravenhurst best place to get baked items especially the cake 🍰.

The best donuts we ever had in the Muskoka region. I’ve tried many many donut shops and this is really the best. The dough is soft and the toppings are perfect. The staff who work at the shop are friendly and answer all your questions about their products.

The doughnuts are so so good. I love Apple fritters however whenever I get them from here my tummy always hurts after. I guess I can’t handle that much sugar. But everything here is still delicious. And the customer service is good :)

The best apple fritter we’ve ever had and quite possibly the best donut we’ve ever had. Both the cookies and the sticky buns were also amazing. We arrived early, waited in-line and benefited from all items fresh and warm from the oven. This is a must stop/destination if your in the Gravenhurst area.

There are not words to describe The Bakery in Gravenhurst. Like Jewish Delis great Canadian old school scrumptious bakeries are few and far between. If you are an hour in any direction do not miss this spot. Clearly everything is awesome but the Chelsea buns are insane. Buy extra for the freezer.

'The Bakery' in Gravenhurst is Top Notch. It's been in business for decades, offering a big variety of daily fresh baked goods, and is often 'sold out' before closing. They make the best doughnuts around, (they are 'Real doughnuts' ) including the best Apple 🍎 fritters ever, Chelsea buns, tarts and pies, a variety of breads, buns, and awesome meat pies too. Great friendly staff, and a very convenient location with free street parking.
Highly recommended, worth the stop in.
