A long time ago, Tina came to Kingston to study at Queen's. Eventually, she made Kingston her home and started a family here. From her travels to Asia, Tina saw many creative and cute things that she wished were in Canada, so she decided to bring them over! It started with a passion for fine tipped gel pens that were hard to find anywhere else in the city and broadened to unique plush toys and many more adorable items!
It's been six years and two stores later and we're proud to say that we have some of the best stationery around. So come and stop by for a visit to our charming store. A great store! Lots of interesting items. Most importantly for me, Midori gifts sells pentel pencils and lead refills, in different sizes. Some of the writing equipment they sell is not available in other stores. The finer sizes of pencils available are very nice for math and science work! One of my favourite places to shop!

I love this place! everytime i go i either buy some thing cute or marvel at the various things carried such as (but not limited to) tea-flavoured fish wafers, rubber pens shaped like cat paws, questionable peppa pig merch, and light up smiley faces with rubber tongues. the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Midori has moved again since the last time I've seen it, just down Princess at slightly, but the new location shows! It's so much bigger, they even added a small section for imported food and drinks. I always find something new and exciting in here, even if it's not a must have. Just walking in here brings me joy and I bet it will for you too.

I've been going to this place off and on for a few years now. Some items are very expensive and others are of great value. You need to watch what you buy, but you can get some great stuff in here for a pretty good price.
The stationary is fantastic. They have cute notebooks and pens which I go through like crazy. They're usually about $2-3 dollars and come in some really cool designs.

Thank you 🙏 🤩 Midori Gifts 🎁 for this wonderful surprise Gift filled with loads of cuteness. I loved the packaging with the new logo 🐇 and all the food items/candies, stationery, as well as the keychain pendant. Context for this review: I visit a lot of character and stationery stores in Toronto. Also, I am big on customer service - the real reason for the fail rating behind this review.
OK - so as I've mentioned, I frequent a lot of stores similar to this one. Some are pricey, some are awesome values.
This is definitely on the pricey end of the range, so no redeeming stars to be had there. Yes, it's on the tourist trap strip, but given that they're big enough to have online sales, and that the prices were beyond what I see in Toronto, doesn't help my rating.

Midori Gifts is a purveyor of cute plushies, stationary, and fashion accessories mostly of Japanese origin. I actually didn't see a ton of very well known branded stuffed toys (no Sanrio characters) but there were a few of the more popular Pokemon. There were a lot of different tools for journaling including an array of gel pens, stickers, and notebooks including ones with 2020 dates, diaries with flaps, and bound leather journals. I have SUCH a weakness for this store! It seems that no matter how much of a bad mood I am in, this store always cheers me up.
They currently have a fantastic sale going on so I purchased a replacement water bottle (they have small ones that I like to put in my purse) and new gloves (that are very warm and cute).
I visit the store often as they always seem to have something new.
