Lise obtained her Kinesiology degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a Practicing Member under the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists and is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist (specialist in biomechanics and foot orthotics). Lise has spent almost 20 years working in the medical and fitness industry.
Orthoquest began in 2007 by a dynamic husband and wife duo Lise Dallien MacMillan and Sean MacMillan, during the day they saw patients at various health clinics around Kelowna then at night, in their single car garage, manufactured Orthotics.
Fast forward 13 years, the many ups and downs of starting a small business and finding their "niche", Orthoquest now has a beautiful store front in Kelowna that combines orthotics, shoes, bracing, and kinesiology, working together with the combined goal of helping people Move Well, Be Well. The colours of Orthoquest and Kelowna Kinesiology were inspired by Lise's cargo commuter bike, the Yuba Boda Boda.

The custom orthotic industry has changed over the past few decades. Clinicians have chosen more commonly to have their products fabricated by large automated facilities. This offers a convenience to the Pedorthist and the products can be effective although less custom and individualized. Fewer clinics have remained true to the craft and make their products on site.
Kinesiologists are human movement specialists. They design and implement exercise programs which are based on in-depth postural analysis, functional movement screens, and strength/flexibility assessments. Kinesiology is not just rehabilitative, but preventative and promotes general wellness. Kinesiology places a strong emphasis on prevention and movement enhancement.
When you injury yourself or if your body is dealing with a more long-term condition, it can be difficult to find something that is going to fit both your lifestyle and injury needs. Our Brace Fitters are specially trained to work one-on-one with you to help find the best option to fit you! We carry in stock a variety of over-the-counter braces and offer custom knee bracing as well (requires an appointment).

Sean opened his store for me when I broke my toe & needed a robo boot when everything else was closed. He is very knowledgeable and personable :) The aircast I received is comfortable, and is such a relief for my foot pain. His store is open for frontline works, I would highly recommend anyone who needs assessment, orthotics, compression socks, or shoes to pay him a visit!

We’ve had the best service here. We brought our daughter in who we noticed was having challenges walking.
We wanted an expert opinion on the shoes she should wear and if she did or did not need supportive shoes.
After her gate analysis and speaking with us we were directed for the right shoes, had her one arch fixed up and she was instantly in a… better position and walking better.
We are so happy we advocated for our daughter and very happy on how much help we got at Orthoquest.
Any delayed walkers out their bring them in for an analysis and put your mind at ease.

Anyone hesitating about making an appointment for a gait assessment should pick up the phone.
I was pleasantly surprised who informative the one hour assessment was. I learned so much and would highly recommend a visit if you have an foot/knee pain.
They also have shoes. What a difference buying from someone who knows your feet and can do preventative trouble shooting for you.
