Fulfilling a lifelong dream to start his own business, Abraham J. Carter began what was then known as West Coast Pest Control in 1965. In the beginning, the company serviced the Corner Brook and Humber Valley area. As the time went, Mr. Carter expanded the business throughout the west and southwest coast of Newfoundland, including the Burgeo and Ramea areas.
Business also began spreading to the east, such as the Baie Verte Peninsula. When Mr. Carter started the business, the Corner Brook area was experiencing a serious problem with cockroaches. Through his early efforts, infestation outbreaks such as these were greatly curtailed. In the early years, services such as tree spraying and fumigating were provided.
