Services
Supermtal was incorporated in 1959. The company began with a group of three to five employees who worked on various small projects. Doing mostly ornamental metalwork, they operated out of a rented garage in a residential neighborhood. The first major project for the young company was a metal stairway in the Quebec suburb of Montmorency.
Supermtal's reputation for quality, reliability and efficiency has been built over decades of commitment to our customers' needs, and a willingness to continually change as the projects and technology evolve. We are extremely proud of the reputation we have earned, and we work hard to ensure that Supermtal always deserves the trust and respect of our clients.
The roots of the Construction Division go back to the pulp and paper mills in Quebec. It has since evolved into the construction of major industrial and commercial sites, working and partnering with valued general contractors, EPC firms and owners, across North America. Our team is dedicated to the erection of Canada and the USA's largest steel urban structures by working closely with the General contractor and other trades.
Phase one of the Lower Churchill Project is referred to as the Muskrat Falls Project - an 824 megawatt Hydro facility near Goose Bay. Supermtal has recently completed fabricating and erecting 4000t for a powerhouse housing four turbines with two service bays for Astaldi Canada. 4 power generating stations were built along the Mattagami River in Northern Ontario: Smoky Falls, Little Long, Kipling and Harmon.
The $245 million New Central Library, located just east of City Hall in Calgary's East Village, will be 240,000 square feet of functional, flexible, beautifully designed space. The project features prominent steel, wood and concrete features and is supported by heavy four-story stacked plate trusses.
