Hearing loss affects people in different ways. These are the most common hearing loss symptoms, and if you experience one or more of these signs, you might have hearing loss. You notice that you watch people's faces and lips more intently than you used to when they are speaking. Hearing loss can also be connected to certain diseases and medications, if you are concerned about this please speak with your doctor or hearing care professional.
The most common causes of hearing loss are the ordinary process of aging and exposure to loud noise and. The main types of hearing loss are sensorineural hearing loss and conductive hearing loss. Many people experience some degree of hearing loss after the age of 50. This is due to 'wear and tear' of the ear- specifically of the cells in the inner ear and the auditory system.
At your first appointment with a hearing care professional, he or she will ask you questions about your health and hearing, to understand your unique situation. You'll then take an in-depth hearing test called an audiogram. This shows exactly which sounds and frequencies you can and can't hear. Your hearing care professional will use this information to help you choose the best hearing aid for you.
Do you have buzzing or ringing in your ears? Tinnitus is defined as the perception of sound when no external sound is actually present. It is most commonly described as ringing, whistling, wheezing, buzzing, clicking or humming but can be described in many other ways. That is because tinnitus sounds different to every person who experiences it.
This type of hearing aid is for you if you have mild to moderate hearing loss, and is a combination of a "behind-the-ear" and an "in-the-ear hearing aid". Sounds are collected by a unit that sits behind the ear. The receiver sends sound into the ear canal, and transmits these amplified sounds directly to the ear.

Listen people, you want quality of hearing back, go to Alto Hearing, quality is what they are about. Every facet of the business is directed to quality. I felt like I jumped into a time warp machine, I was treated with professionalism, respect, dignity and good old fashioned service. I dealt with Trevor at the beginning, he left for personal reasons, Rezza stepped in, didn't miss a beat. Jody, can't say enough about her thoroughness as the coordinator of the group. I'm a very satisfied customer. Way to go Alto! Think I'm happy should see the smile on the wife's face!!

Just want to say how very pleased we are with the service we received at Alto Hearing. Reza was very helpful in picking out the aids that were best suited for my husband. It has made a world of difference being able to hear again. Along with the excellent service the price was a lot lower and very affordable. We would absolutely recommend Alto Hearing.

If you have any kind of hearing issue, young or older, big budget or small, you need to do yourself a huge favour and call Trevor. He helped me significantly. He is a very kind soul, and is truly passionate about what he does. He is at the forefront of all the latest and greatest technology, but will also be honest with you about what you really need and what can really help you. He has a masterful knowledge of the anatomy and the mechanisms of hearing. He is also delightful to go and see - and will work overtime and do whatever is needed to get you hearing the best you possibly can. Even though
