Since the start of her photography career, she has dreamed of making art for the walls of familys' homes. Her dream art mostly includes family gatherings, because it's family who is most dear to her heart. After losing both her mother (complications due to MS) in 2013, and her father (who lived to the ripe old age of 99, but suffered dimentia in the end) in 2019, documenting families has become even more important NOW, than ever to her.
Her favorite commissions are Mother and Child, Family, Graduation and Boudoir. When she's not shooting, she is working on another accreditation or print competition images, both of which are through the PPOC. As a photographer's growth is very important, these challenging outlets allow her to continually push herself to grow and learn new methods of portrait making.

We've been lucky to get to take part in Painted Light's photos with Santa twice now and have been very happy with the experience. The photos were wonderful and all for a good cause as well. Painted Light Photography is such a great part of our community!

I highly recommend Marlene not only is she a talented artist behind lens but she is just a beautiful person inside and out. She truly captures the beauty we often forget about and reminds us how empowering we are as women and men. I recently did a boudoir shoot with her admittedly I was very nervous, but she was so professional and has this natural ease about her that just makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. Marlene is an amazing person as well as an amazing photographer. She did our sons grad pics as well as family photos at our acreage. She is very good at making you feel comfortable and she’s a lot of fun. She knows how to get everyone laughing including the pets! She is an amazing pet photographer as well. I wish we had used her long ago. Highly recommend Marlene for any pics you are considering.

Marlene is the absolute best photographer! She makes you feel so confident and comfortable in front of her camera. She also has one of the kindest hearts I’ve ever had the honour of getting to know. Marlene puts so much heart and soul into every photo she takes from family photos to boudoir and it truly shows when you get to see your pictures and you’re simply blown away & speechless over the beauty in your own photos. I highly recommend her to any of my friends and family.
