Skeena Bakery
Skeena Bakery is an Artisan Bakery & Coffee Shop in the heart of the Hazeltons, located at 4477 Highway 16 in New Hazelton. Skeena Bakery offers a variety of handmade breads, sweet treats and savouries. Come on in and enjoy a treat and some locally roasted Mercedes Beans coffee or pick up some fresh bread and baked goods.
Services
Skeena Bakery is operated by the not-for-profit Skeena Supported Employment Society, a grassroots community organization conceived to address the lack of meaningful employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities in the Hazeltons and neighbouring villages.

As a model 'supported workplace', you may see disabled trainees working alongside the skilled bakers shaping loaves in the bakery, or with a support worker serving your cinnamon roll and coffee in the shop-front cafe. All profits made by the Skeena Bakery go towards fostering further employment opportunities in the Hazeltons.
We offer an array of sweet and savoury baked goods, using organic cane sugar, organic flours, organic oats, unsalted butter, olive oil, pure sunflower oil and Callebaut chocolate. Pies are baked on Mondays, every week EXCEPT holidays. Flavors include: Apple, Peach, Rhubarb, Rhubarb Strawberry, Blueberry, Blackberry, Cherry, and other flavors as the pie baker is inspired.

Didn't go in, I was filling up water, kinda dark outside, no lights aside from my headlights.

I love the Skeena Bakery. It is my go to treat place with an amazing program within the business of "baking down barriers". They employ and train folks who have neurodivergent learning styles and also source their soups from various society's and folks who are local, therefore generating income for others while supplying locally made soups. I bought a lovely cookie tin for the holidays as a birthday gift for a family member and I just loved the packaging! My favorite staff member is Harvey who is a Gitxsan and he is always so friendly and fast with his service! Highly recommend this place for your

Great little bakery! Beautifully crafted artisan bread!!! Yummy cookies! We popped in after our tour of Kasan and the local waterfall hike. Perfect spot to stop and grab baked goods!

I mentioned this business in a different review, as the best place to actually buy the products of another business! Most of all, however, it has excellent, freshly made bread and baked products of all kinds, and the prices are not out of line. I host traveling bicyclists from around the world, and have heard European cyclists give rave reviews of this place after passing through New Hazelton. The service is not effusive, but in no way unfriendly, slow or unpleasant.

Smells magical like a bakery ought to! Always has an excellent brew of locally roasted coffee, nothing fancy, great cinnamon buns, good cookies, yummy chocolate buns, delectable scones, sinful desserts, and friendly staff. Darren, the baker, is a super smart guy and always super interesting to chat with, though maybe steer him away from the conspiracy theories.

Oh yeah, high quality fresh bread with lots of choice, and discounts on the day old.

I also like the daily lunch special which is usually a bowl if chilli or something nice and simple that goes with a scone or slice of fresh bread.

Run by a local employment opportunity organization. Good feel, friendly place. Ordered a cranberry scone and a beef sausage roll. Roll was excellent, the scone would have benefitted from more cranberries. Still worth the stop if you are on your way through Hazelton, BC, on highway 16.

Just a great place! Their baked goods are excellent (I'm a big fan of the sausage rolls and Picasso bread), they sell Mercedes coffee and Donna's chocolate (also great and nice to support other local shops), and they try and hire and support local community members.

A local gem, fabulously awesome cinnamon buns! Many other treats, some gluten free ...and a nice assortment of breads and other savoury items. Welcoming staff, decent coffee.
Unassuming facade, easy to drive by ...Don't!

The Skeena Bakery was a quick stop during our drive to Prince George and back. We were pleasantly surprised by fresh out-of-the-oven scones, muffins and breads that made our trip even more pleasant on that early early morning. The scones were just amazing. And everything else was amazing also. I don't recall everything we bought, but we bought a lot and by the time we arrived in Prince George, it was all gone. Everything made from scratch, everything made fresh. Just great.

The service was extremely friendly. The owner, employees and customers were all very nice. It is a warm bakery
