Problems with your pelvic floor can have a significant impact on your quality of life, with difficulties ranging from incontinence, low back, pelvic, or hip pain, to sexual difficulties. Our team of experienced therapists are specially trained to assess and treat the diverse needs of infants, children, and teens, whether that is in the clinic, at home, daycare or school.

If you have an injury or pain from a condition that affects your upper extremities-your hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder, you may benefit from seeing Sue Kean, our Certified Hand Physiotherapist. Bringing a new baby into the world is a wonderful, life changing experience, but the tremendous changes your body goes through can sometimes leave you feeling a little beat up.
Services
The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that sit like a trampoline in the bottom of the pelvis. They also extend out to the hip bones and work very closely with the other muscles of the core to create stability in the trunk and hips. Assessment and treatment by a physiotherapist with training in pelvic floor disorders may be beneficial.
Pediatric pelvic floor problems are extremely common. In fact up to 20% of all pediatric visits are related to incontinence (wetting) and constipation. The good news is that non invasive physiotherapy techniques can be very effective. At your initial appointment you and your child will meet with the physiotherapist for a thorough evaluation of your child's history, bladder, and bowel habits.
Hand And Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Pain and loss of function in the hand and upper extremity can have a significant effect on a person's life. Any one with this injury wants the very best treatment to assure maximal recovery. Certified Hand Therapists have demonstrated an exceptional dedication to their profession, and a desire for advanced competency.
Low back, Sacroiliac (SI), and hip pain is extremely common during pregnancy. Many women think that there are few treatment options available to them during pregnancy and "just live with it" Physiotherapy can actually be quite effective in reducing or eliminating back, pelvic, and hip pain, using a combination of education regarding ways to protect your joints as your body changes, and strengthening of the core and pelvic floor.
At Archstone Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre you can expect your injuries to be assessed in a completely integrated way. We use a whole body approach, taking into account the way your entire body works. Our focus is on getting you back to moving well with strength and confidence whether you have a new acute injury or are struggling with a persistent or recurring problem.
