The key is controlling heat, air and moisture movements, to provide energy efficiency, plus the comfort / healthy environment that homeowner's request.
Services
City Fibreglas Insulation Ltd. is a licensed dealer, trained in the installation of "The Icynene Insulation System". Icynene is a spray-in-place, light-density, expanding foam that expands, within seconds, to 100 times its volume providing thermal resistance along with the critical barrier against air and moisture movement.
ICYNENE MD-C-200 is the closed-cell insulating spray foam product from the insulating spray foam leader. It is air-impermeable and offers vapour barrier performance. Customer Testimonial: I want to express appreciation to you for assigning Danny and Mike to the job. In my opinion they are the best workers we have ever had on a job at this location.
The Blown-In-Blanket System, when used in conventional wood frame construction offers increased energy efficiency through higher thermal resistance, plus an improvement in sound reduction over a batt installation of an equal thickness. Independent testing has shown BIBS reduces air infiltration by 68% over convention insulation.
The most widely used insulation for residential construction in our region is an unfaced fiber glass batt. It is a flexible product, composed of small diameter glass fibers, with a resin binder. The majority of its thermal resistance is obtained from the trapped air pockets created by the matrix of spun fibers within the batt, not by the fibers.
Thermal insulation is a material that is used to reduce the flow of heat. Within this region, we tend to think it functions to reduce heat loss, during the winter months. Escalating energy costs and the monthly home heating bill provide the incentive for this belief. Did you know?.in a house with a polyethylene vapour barrier, diffusion accounts for less than 5% of the total moisture removal.
