Services
Janet draws upon a wide breadth of education and experience as well as a diverse repertoire of methods: Mindful Body Psychotherapy (Certified Hakomi Therapist), EMDR, PolyVagal Theory, Indigenous wisdom woven with Myth and Stories. Book and wisdom - through life experience - come together to create a magical space and connection to engage in your transformational change.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with over 3,500 clients and conducted over 11,000 hours of clinical practice. Over the past 11 years, I have learned the key role of personal transformative experiences in understanding human nature. Just as I assist my clients on a path of self-discovery and development, I take time to learn more about myself.
My background has given me a practical perspective on problem-solving and an honest communication style. Drawing on a biological understanding of how the brain and the body are connected, I will help you find ways to regulate your thoughts through mindfulness and polyvagal theory. We will work together to address your immediate concerns and build a direction for long-term recovery using elements of cognitive behavioural therapy and logotherapy.
Whether you're a regular, returning, or brand new client at Mountain Therapy we will tailor our offerings to meet you where you're at with our sights set on where you'd like to be. Book an appointment with Janet, Scott or Justin-Claude to join our tribe and begin your journey. In the absence of proper notification, clients will be charged the full rate for the appointment.
The Safe and Sound Protocol was developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, who discovered the Polyvagal Theory; "a theory that links the evolution of the mammalian autonomic nervous system to social behavior and emphasizes the importance of one's physiological state in the expression of behavioral problems and psychiatric disorders."
