Located on the northern edge of the Carleton University campus, Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG) serves campus and civic communities. The gallery operates in an evolving environment that is grounded in inquiry and the open exchange of ideas. CUAG fosters inclusive opportunities for art-based learning.
We facilitate spaces of reflection and action around the ideas raised by the artists who anchor our exhibition, public and publication programs. We mentor and support emerging cultural workers. We care for the University's art collection, an important resource for research, teaching and display. CUAG is committed to unlearning.

Services
If you're a student, professor, local teacher or community group, get connected to art and ideas with these learning opportunities. Our facilities are physically accessible and you don't need prior knowledge of art to enjoy your visit. These opportunities are free and available on weekdays. Consider adding a workshop to the end of your tour!
We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and accessible space and program of exhibitions and events. CUAG is located in the St. Patrick's Building, at the north end of campus. The closest bus stop is 6612; the next closest is 5813. The closest Para Transpo stop is 20 (Northern Residences), in front of Leeds House residence.
We warmly invite all students to get involved with CUAG by attending and participating in our public programs, including artist talks, panel discussions, workshops, exhibition openings and more. We love collaborating with Carleton students and student organizations to create art-based projects and events.
Are you a registered art history graduate student of high academic standing who is entering your second year of study? Are you keen to gain hands-on experience at a professional public gallery? If yes, then you should apply for CUAG's Research Assistant (RA) position! Every year, we offer an RA position to a Carleton student.
We offer five front desk positions to Carleton undergraduate and graduate students every year. At the front desk, you are the gallery's public face. You will greet and serve visitors, answer the telephone, carry out cash transactions, staff exhibition openings and other events and learn about the work of great contemporary artists, all while gaining fantastic work experience.
