Bob's Taxi is the largest and oldest cab company in Dartmouth. Along with our sister company, Blue Bell Taxi, we have over 185 cars in circulation. Our experienced staff and drivers provide over 500,000 rides annually. We primarily service the areas of Dartmouth and surrounding communities of Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage along with Halifax, Sackville and the County.
All our drivers must adhere to Bob's code of conduct rules and as well complete the municipal vulnerable sector and criminal records check. The Bob's Taxi app is the Taxi Booking app for the city of Dartmouth, including services to and from Halifax Regional Municipality, Airport and all surrounding communities.

I had to schedule a late night (early AM) pick up from the Halifax airport for my daughter returning to school in Halifax with extra baggage and I was so impressed with the customer service at Bob's Taxi. Calling around I found it isn't easy to get a commitment for a 2am airport pickup but Bob's Taxi not only committed, but went the extra mile. Each person I spoke to was empathetic and engaged in helping me make sure my daughter got picked up in the early morning. The dispatcher was checking the flight arrival times for any flight changes (which there were). The support helped a stressful situation

I used Bob's taxi about 8-10 times over the weekend. I couldn't say enough great things about my experience. They were quick every time (I didnt wait more than 5 minutes every time, but more than once they were about a street away from me. After hanging up the phone, you immediately get a link on your phone to see exactly where the taxi is. This experience is nothing like I've had where I'm from (Cape Breton) I had one kind of cranky driver.. but that didn't take away from my experience. Every other driver was great!

They have an app that you can pre-book cabs. I booked 45 (FOURTY FIVE) minutes before I needed to be picked up, and not only am I STILL sitting here waiting 20 minutes after my pick up time has already passed (making me late for work and losing pay), I called the dispatch as well , only to be told that bookings don’t get sent to drivers until 10 minutes before the pickup time, and it doesn’t put you in the queue until then either. So I’m sitting here late, with 2 other people ahead of me somehow even though I booked an hour ago. PATHETIC. POOR EXCUSE FOR A COMPANY.

If there was a 0 stars option I would have selected that. Absolutely horrible customer service! I called to be picked up, and was told I would be second in line. 20 minutes later no cab arrived - the tracking link that was texted to me was not functional. When I called in to get a status update, I was told that there was no way of being provided one. After asking for how many cabs were operating in the area so I could get an understanding of how much longer the wait would be, the operator hung up on me! I was trying to support local, but save yourself some time and energy and just go with Uber

I had a few friendly drivers who were fantastic!
Disappointingly, the general experience was awful. Many of the drivers intentionally brought me to my destination the longest way to charge me more. I brought this concern to the drivers and they were dishonest and rude.
I spoke to the day time dispatcher about this incident and they were understanding and I appreciate that.
There are many improvements to be made and I hope Bob's taxi can look into this.

Worst customer service, the dispatcher is rude, and seems like she hates her job, doesn’t listen no wonder this service has such a bad rating.. poor poor poor!! I am completely dumb founded on how they treat someone with a disability and in need of information that can be given!! Poor human skills… and very disrespectful and disappointing!! Learn how to Treat people!!! And maybe you might not be so miserable!!! Horrible!!!
Edit: I will say driver 370 is a wonderful human being!! And appreciate the little bit of time he took to help someone in need!!!

Bob's taxi is a very convenient service to use. Occasionally you get a not so friendly driver but a majority of the time drivers are great people & often strike up a hearty conversation. A challenge in the past was that drivers would be more willing to pick you up if you were paying by cash as opposed to credit card, however I have not noticed this trend more recently. 4 stars for me.
