Dr. Tara (Avery) Scichilone graduated from UNBSJ with her BSc in 1999, before pursuing her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Dalhousie University in 2003. Dr. Tara has been caring for patients in Saint John and the surrounding areas since 2003 and has fulfilled her personal dream of starting her own family dental clinic with the opening of East Point Dental in 2020.
Originally from Newfoundland, Dr. Scichilone has lived coast to coast but considers New Brunswick home since her move back following her dental education. Dr. Tara and her husband Joe have two children, Avery and Dominic and one spoiled black lab. She is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the New Brunswick Dental Association, and the Saint John Dental Society.

We offer a wide range of dental services for the whole family at East Point Dental with a strong focus on preventative dental care and oral health education. Our entire team strives to provide every patient with personalized care that is aligned with their individual needs. We pride ourselves offering our patients gentle dental care.
We are currently searching for a reliable team player who is committed to making our patients feel welcome and comfortable. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to educate clients about oral health. Our family dental practice is just over a year old and we are on an exciting path of growth thanks to our skilled and caring tight-knit team.

Amazing service, super friendly and completely made going to the dentist enjoyable. They were super flexible in scheduling my emergency work so that I didn't miss an important work meeting and then I listened to a podcast and practically meditated while the work was done. One of my top three best service experiences ever. 100% recommend.

I had never met anyone at East Point Dental until Friday. I was very quickly put at ease with their friendly and professional manner. A problem was discovered in an exray, and to make sure I would get the help needed, I was told I would be referred to a specialist. I appreciated that extra step of care. Dentists are not usually people's favourite place to visit, but I have no reservations at all in returning to East Point Dental. Wonderful people, all of them. Thank you!

My first visit to East Point Dental was a very pleasant experience. All of the staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. Hayley does a very thorough cleaning, while making you feel at ease while getting to know you. I am very pleased with the repair to my chipped tooth. My smile is beautiful again! I look forward to my next visit (now who ever says that about the dentist).

As someone that grew up hating a visit to the dentist , I felt I had to write a review on my experience at East Point Dental. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. They put me at ease. Dr. Tara was fantastic. When she was done working there were none of the issues I had to deal with that turned me away from going to the dentist.
Their office is clean, bright and didn't have the antiseptic smell of a lot of dentist offices.
The staff has made going to the dentist a comfortable experience.
I would highly recommend East Point Dental to anyone that is in need of a dentist
