The beautifully landscaped grounds feature a variety of fruit trees and feeding stations for the abundant bird and squirrel population. Strolling along the 300' boardwalk with the river on one side and extensive gardens on the other is a favorite pastime for guests. Many of the furnishings in the rooms and cottages are made on-site.
Warm wood of pine, red oak, ash and maple create a comfortable and restful atmosphere. Dewar's Inn on the River with 30 years experience. The Inn caters to an adult clientele. Extensively renovated, the motel & cottages offer uniqueness in a peaceful setting. Situated on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, guests are treated to a beautiful view anytime of the year.

Rude and unprofessional. Reserved a room with 2 double beds and got a call the morning off to be told the room would only have one bed. Then they gave us attitude and were extremely rude when we told Judy that this would not worked and that we booked 2 beds because we needed 2 bed. Refused to provide any assistance or any option such a rollaway bed to try to accommodate, had to reach out to travel agency to get the reservation cancelled without penalty as Judy would not do anything, not even cancel despite the fact they didn't have the room we booked available!

Dewar's Inn is by far one of the most astounding places we've spent the night yet.
We had the opportunity to stay in cottage #19. The cottage inside was spotless and very well maintained. It had beautiful hardwood flooring, amazing natural light and great rustic decor. Outside, the view of the st.Lawrence river, flowers and boardwalk is to die for. My only disappointment? Having to leave.
We will definitely make this a yearly tradition! Highly recommended for anyone trying to get away and looking for peace and quiet.

Such a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are comfy and clean. The grounds are immaculate, such beautiful flowers and shrubs. Judy and her husband are so friendly, always stopping to say hi and see if you are enjoying your stay. Because of CoVid they can't serve breakfast but we had delicious, fresh muffins in our room waiting for us. If you are in the area, please stop in for the night, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed here as an overnight stop-over on our way to Ottawa, simply to break up the drive a little. The cottage was cozy and delightfully themed (we had the bird one) and I loved the library there too. All… books that I either had already, or ones that were on my To Read list. The view is beautiful in Winter; I could only imagine at the time what that wide expanse of snow-covered ice would look like in the prime of summer. A lovely haven, indeed!
