If you are planning to visit Canada, it is important to know if you need a permit to enter. Depending on your nationality you may need an Electronic Travel Authorization or a visa Temporary Resident Visa. If you want to study in Canada you may need a Study Permit. If you plan to study either with a educational course or a complete program such as a degree or diploma you can apply for a study permit. Depending on the duration your studies take, your work permit length will vary.

Studies are lasting up to six months: If you want to study for only a few months or a short period of time (studying up to six months), you do not need to apply for a student visa.The courses could be related to any topic, full or part-time but can not be leading towards a certificate, diploma or degree.

Every year, the Canadian government issues 100,000 work permits to Temporary Foreign Workers to help businesses meet their skilled labour demands. In addition to these workers, other foreigners are allowed to work without a work permit. Depending on the type and scope of work, duration of employment, country of citizenship and other factors of the foreign worker, different rules and requirements apply.
