In 1940, Dr. James Lampard and Dr. Sadie Lampard settled in Red Deer, Alberta, to establish Central Alberta's oldest optometry practice: The Eye Care Centre. The Eye Care Centre was built on Lampards' tireless efforts and erected on the pillars of exceptional service, ongoing patient care, and community involvement.
To make accessing and paying for your eye care services as convenient as possible, we provide direct billing to several major insurance providers. Regularly scheduled eye exams are essential for maintaining clear vision and healthy eyes. A complete eye exam will screen for vision problems as well as health concerns like glaucoma, diabetes, and high blood pressure. By detecting early signs of eye disease or vision loss, we are able to address such issues before they become worse.
At the Eye Care Centre, we're devoted to helping children see clearly! Your child's development is dependent on their vision, so regular eye exams are as important for your child's health as regular health exams. As children's bodies change and grow, so do their eyes. Sometimes, vision problems can develop quickly that weren't present when they were younger.
When you have diabetes, high blood sugar levels can damage your blood vessels and increase your risk of developing certain eye problems. Diabetic eye diseases like glaucoma, retinopathy, and cataracts may cause permanent vision loss. At the Eye Care Centre, we use advanced diagnostic equipment to detect the earliest signs of eye diseases when they're most treatable.

I had excellent care as always. I have been coming to Red Deer Eyecare over 25 years, even when I lived in Calgary and even now that I live in Edmonton. The staff are awesome and they always help me pick out frames that are flattering. My prescription is always perfect. I tried a different place once in Calgary, spent over 2000.00 and couldn't focus with the lenses they put in. It was a huge fight so I went back to Red Deer Eyecare. I will always make the trip because I have always been satisfied with the whole process. They make it a fun experience.

I was already happy with the care I did get in this center. A lovely doctor and lens specialist, and all the other people who helped me out there.
But today I got an extras treatment. A Christmas gift 🎁 and… thank god those people are a blessing. Exactly what I needed in times of immigration during a world wide pandemic, being pregnant and haven a vehicle stolen.

Always professional, never rushed. Made sure I got the best value for my money. Could of possibly got the glasses a bit cheaper, but the service and follow ups means more to me than the saving of a few dollars. Especially for complex eye issues, this is the place to go for the best service and quality.

I have been going to Red Deer Eye Care Centre for years and have always felt respected and genuinely cared for. Dr. Lund and his staff do a thorough checkup for me each year and explain to me what results mean. They diagnosed my glaucoma and got me referred to a specialist for treatment. When I had unusual symptoms in my eyes they got me in right away to be sure it was nothing serious. Again, there was a wonderful explanation and teaching about my eye health. The staff who help me with contac lens and glasses are also professional and helpful. I would highly recommend Red Deer Eye Care Centre to

Absolutely the best staff!!!! The front desk is so knowledgeable and very friendly. I had some questions regarding lasik surgery and they knew all the answers :) The place was very busy but the staff took their time with me to make sure I had all my questions answered and then some. I have always heard wonderful things about this office and now when I need my next exam, I will be def. going here. VERY PROFESSIONAL!!!!

I've been a customer of the Red Deer office for many years and up until recently have always been treated with courtesy and professionalism. My recent visit, however, gave rise to several concerns including privacy and protection of my health care information, poor customer service, and lack of comprehensive and timely optical services. I left feeling disrespected as a person and frustrated as a customer.

I am very happy with the thorough care provided by Dr. Leinweber and the staff. They are friendly, efficient, and I came away feeling that I had been taken seriously and treated well with no need to worry… about the quality of care I had received. I'm new to this clinic and entirely satisfied that I have made a very good choice of provider.
