The Lake Country Art Gallery is situated on the unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) Peoples, Lake Country is a district municipality with a population of approximately 15,000 in the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia, Canada. Lake Country is located halfway between Kelowna to the south and Vernon to the north.
The Lake Country Art Gallery informs and builds community through enriching and sometimes challenging exhibitions. It offers diverse and inclusive programming and gives space to artists in varied artistic practices. It is accessible, engages the local community and beyond, and fulfills its role with a strong, contemporary voice.
We are searching for a talented and professional person to fill the position of the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Lake Country Art Gallery. This staff person will work with the management team to develop and implement events and activities that engage the general public with valuable art experiences in Lake Country, the Central Okanagan and beyond.
Sea of Love is a homage to nature, ecosystems, connections, and discoveries. Artists Shannon Lester and Endrene Shepherd are immersed in an artistic practice that offers commentary, anecdotes and observations of the natural world. He works primarily in acrylic on canvas and has explored topics related to gender identity and sexuality in the past.
