Southern Ontario winters have become much more varied. The continuous freeze/thaw pattern that we have is detrimental to the caulking and seals that keep moisture out of your boat. Seal out the winter by protecting your investment with a form fitted winter cover. Sportech Sails winter covers are built specific to each boat, and are a much more economical and environmental way of covering your boat when compared to shrink wrap.
Any sailmaker or canvas shop can make a sail cover, but no one can build a quality, custom-fitted sail cover like we can. Every one of our sail covers is especially designed for each individual type of boat, and can be built to accommodate lazy-jacks and Dutchman Systems. Our sail covers are constructed of the same high quality Sunbrella yacht acrylic as our Dodgers and Biminis.
Enlarge your living space and extend your sailing season with a Sportech Dodger. Our dodgers are made to match your boats design, and be functional for you and your style of sailing. For maximum durability and performance we use 1 stainless Steel frames, top quality marine fasteners and hardware, and Sunbrella yacht acrylic.
At Sportech Sails we are often asked to make unique covers, screens, wraps, for different pieces of equipment and differing purposes. Some of the items are fairly standard, others are truly unique. If you have something that needs a cover, we can build it! Gore, Tenara Sewing Thread maintains its strength even after regular exposure to UV sunlight.
At Sportech we realize that Sailors are becoming more sun-conscious. Custom designed Biminis are almost a necessary addition to cruising yachts. A Sportech Bimini is designed to maximize coverage while still leaving winches and other sail control items unobstructed. The Bimini frames and fittings are heavy duty stainless steel, designed to withstand high winds and rough seas.

Jamie Day the owner of Sportech Sails was very accommodating in repairing our Genoa (our primary foresail) that we damaged on a spreader on fairly short notice in addition to replacing a couple of degraded windows in our Dodger. Service was excellent and the repairs top notch. We will definately be refferring Sportech to others & are currently having Jamie quote us on making up a #2 Jib for our yacht.

I would never trust anyone else to mend my sails or do any canvas work for my boat. Jaime is professional, reliable and his work is of the highest quality. Plus, Jaime is a sailor himself and we trust his recommendations based on years of experience. Sales and service -- Sportech Sails stand behind their products and they are the best in the business.

Dont know how good his work is. Took my deposit on Dec. 7, 2017. My carpet was suppose to go in April 2018 and my top was suppose to be made May 2018. Its June 21, 2018 no work I was suppose to be done after another boat at the marina I am in. That boat has been done for a week. He never called or started on mine. Went to his shop to see him. He is working on someone elses top cutting the canvas. He has lots of excuses as to why he isn't working on your top. I got my deposit back and I am going somewhere else.

Something has changed with these folks. I thought they were doing a full enclosure for me but they have never called back to confirm the details. When you call them, the phone goes unanswered. Surprising as their work and service has been excellent in the past, to the extent I had actually recommended them!
Perhaps, they are just too busy. Their major competitor in town is not taking on additional work for 2015.This looks like a market that needs to be serviced by more suppliers. They were my first choice but certainly turned out to be a disappointment.
