I'm George Mahanna, sole owner-operator of Blue Tent Upholstery. I named my company Blue Tent because enjoyment of RVs, boats, cars, planes, and motorcycles is under our great 'blue tent' - the sky. Upholstery has been a family tradition. My dad started in the upholstery trade in 1946 and was nominated as top tradesman by the chamber of commerce.
As an example, we can repair your existing seat covers or do a complete re-upholstery with OEM type materials, or, if you prefer, custom seat covers can be manufactured from scratch. While helping you acquire the correct and finest materials available, we assure you that our finished product will be something of which you can be proud.

George Mahanna, Blue Tent's owner-operator, has over 30 years (since 1980) restoration hands-on experience working on all aspects of upholstery for automotive, boat, RV, trailer, plane, construction equipment, motorcycle, and other vehicles.
Due to varying workloads with different seasonal demands, it is best to call Blue Tent early to start the discussion and plan the work to fit within a time frame that pleases you and is achievable for Blue Tent factoring in other clients and a possible need to order specific materials for your project if we don't already have stock.
Our shop is a small hidden gem of vehicle upholstery excellence in the east end of Ottawa and serving the greater Ottawa-Carleton area with clients sometimes coming as far as over a 100 km within Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec for our specialized services. A small business specializing in automotive, marine, and difficult fabric repair (e.g. pool safety cover repair?), I dealt directly with the owner George. He was easy to reach via email and telephone and suggested I come by for an in-person quote on my motorcycle seat customization. He completed the work ahead of schedule and on budget as agreed. I had inquired about the possibility of having some work done on my boat canvas top with some modifications. George was extremely accommodating and provided me both with an estimate and timeframe for completion of work. A few days after I received a call indicating that the work was completed. Upon receiving the top back, my expectations were exceeded in the quality of workmanship and how quickly George was able to turn-around the project. I highly recommend Blue Tent Upholstery.

George did a great job re upholstering my front and passenger seat on my R1. I provided the seat kit and he gave a reasonable quote and very fast turn around time. The quality and perfection placed on the seats was top notch and brought some new life to the bike! He offered to add extra padding if required as well and did a quick leather seat stitching repair on the spot on my passenger seat of my vehicle. Will go back for any of my upholstery needs in the future and highly recommend George's services!

The moment I walked in to Blue Tent I was very impressed with the overall professionalism and customer service I received from George.
I brought my 1997 Miata because of a water leak coming in to the trunk from the roof. I brought the car to other places and they didn't know how to fix it and made things worse. When I brought the car to Blue Tent George new what the exact issue was and fixed the problem. He even went out of his way to fix what other things other places broke on my roof. George is a very personable person and I can recommend Blue Tent to anyone looking for quality and honesty!
